Are the police interested in this sort of incident in a private carpark?

Well they are when the driver is the Shadow Chancellor.

How do you know it's a staff member?

He was wearing a b&q top and came out of a fire exit with the other staff members as they had closed the customer exit. Other staff members present also confirmed it.

I too was under the impression that it wouldn't be a police matter as nobody was hurt and it happened on a private car park. I'm starting to think that maybe its not worth the hassle and that I'm just blowing it out of proportion, it p'd me right off though I mean who would do that and then just drive off? Especially at their own workplace.

B&Q still haven't got back to me, they might be waiting to ask him for his side of the story though. If I haven't heard anything by tomorrow I'll have a look for a number for head office.

Why didn't you go straight back into the store and get details or report him.
I believe the OP said that the collision happened at closing time for the store, I may be wrong on that?

I'm not a driver, but I think you're required to report any driving-related accident to the police: they'll generally only attend if someone has been hurt.

No. Only where there is injury to person or certain animals (dog, goat, cattle, horse, @ss, mule, pig, sheep) do the police need to be involved. Or if the damaged vehicles are obstructing the passage of traffic.

A simple minor damage incident requires that both drivers should stop and exchange names, addresses and insurance company details.

And what stupid censor stops one using a 3 letter word for donkey, beginning with a and ending in ss!!

I cant quite get why the OP knows its a staff member? did they have on the orange apron? and black polo shirt? if so, then you should take the matter up with the manager. unless it WAS the manager.......

I'm not convinced this thread is genuine. You've already decided the manager is going to cover up for his member of staff. On what basis have you come to this conclusion. Surely either you deal with it or forget about it.
