11! that's bit young isn't it?! (i got my sister's old phone when i was 16!) my phone is from ebay, it's a clamshell with no external screen so i don't break it (which i was always doing with nokia types) and cost around £30 - was already unlocked for orange hooray!0

I don't think 11 is too young - the reason why I waited until she was starting High School is because I'd rather she had some means of communication on her if she was in any trouble or she had to contact me urgently.
She won't be using it much at other times, as she's never out on her own anywhere, - it's mainly for safety reasons.
