I promised my daughter she could have a mobile phone when she started at High School and now the time is fast approaching.

What would you recommend for her - she loves Pink!

Bearing in mind, she's also very careless, I wouldn't want to spend a fortune on one, as no doubt she'll lose it somewhere!

Thanks

Sal

It would help if you stated how much you are willing to spend, there are loads of pink phones.

I don't have a set amount, I was only looking for some recommendations from people who perhaps had a child of that age and wondered what phone they used? Not mega expensive though, as I think she might end up losing it, as I said.

    Pink Nokia 6111 - £100ish ?
  • How about a Motorola L6 for £34.95 + £10 topup = £44.95. There's a camera on the phone so your daughter can take pictures with it, and it also has bluetooth so she can send/receive pictures to/from friends.

Alternatively there's Samsung C300 for the same price; it doesn't have a camera nor bluetooth but it's a small slidey phone which she may prefer the look of.

If you want to spend slightly less than that there's Motorola W220. On Orange it's £24.95 + £10 topup = £34.94 which is £10 cheaper than the other 2, but it doesn't look as nice imo and doesn't have bluetooth/camera either. To be honest if you're paying around £30-40 for a phone for her, you may as well fork out another fiver and get the L6 as it has more features.
Link to the W220 if you're interested:

Personally I'd go for the L6, because it has more features than the other 2. You could go for a more expensive option of course (LG Chocolate, Nokia 6111 etc) but as you say if it's for an 11 year old then you probably don't want to break the bank in case she loses it :)

    HTH! :)

motorola w220 is terrible, samsung e900? its a bit dearer than the samsung and motorola but its also a bit more up to date and easier to get hold of with it being an up to date model.
    its about £60 these days

My granddaughter just gets her mum or dad's old ones as they replace. they replace regularly so hers is usually quite up to date (usually more than mine!) and its quite sufficient for her as she doesnt use it that much, point of her having it was so she could contact mum and dad in emergency.
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

I bought my daughter a pink Samsung E900 for her 11th birthday last week , £59.99 from the O2 online shop , has all the features she wanted ~ video , bluetooth , camera ,mp3 etc , it seems very good value and is in Argos for £150.
I'd get one myself but they only do pink for that price.

P.s . She also gets to download a free game ( picked Sims 2 which would have cost £5 ) , real tone ringtone and wallpaper background of her choice and has 5 MB mobile wap browsing for the first 30 days.
