    this is about loyalty
and honour. why do you think we shop around in the first place.

Because you want the best price, and that's what you went for, because, quite rightly, you have no loyalty when it comes to a business transaction.

What loyalty exactly were you expecting this company to show to someone who was willing to deal with someone else if the price was better

I'd agree in expecting it to be a pick up as the majority of pick up trucks now need commercial insurance as they are that big now a days that private car policies won't touch them. Or it's a long wheel base 4x4 and can handle more than 7 passengers?.....

I thought the difference between commercial & private was the use rather than the vehicle.

Our works van is commercial because it a van used for work but in the past when I had a vans that were only used for private use they were insured exactly the same as my car

    hi,

You are quite right it's a pick up, are people so dumb these days, or has this government blinded your eyes. I really can't believe the feed back on this one. It's about principle really and good honest people.
I put the same details on all comparison sites, no lying, no forgery.
Insurance brokers seem to be taking us all for fools, it doesn't matter
if it was £30 or £3000. it's the same thing, it's called fraud, stealing
what ever you want to name it. Dishonest brokers making crooked money. It just makes me so angry. what about all the young people
insuring their car these days, anything thing from £4000 upwards
ridiculous. Absolutely well over priced quotations. Your No claims bonus is worthless these days, your driving experience doesn't count.
You can't even stay with the same insurer for two years now. The policy just goes up sky high. No loyalty, no honesty. Just dam right
thieving all round, in line with inflation. Complete Rubbish. The financial bodies should be made aware of these frauds. Throw them all in prison where they belong, their no better than a robber.

    Hi,

I have just found out that the validity period is one day, or 24Hrs
Any case they issue a reference number with the quote.
Funny enough my quote had the same reference number an hour
latter, but the quote went up £30. It just shows you, that there
on the fiddle. sorry to go on about this, but my case is strong
    I don't like thieves.

If you don't like their practises then shop elsewhere - sometimes moneysaving and principles don't mix

No its not. Retailers change their prices all the time. I cant go back to a retailer later and demand them to sell to me at an earlier price.

Its not fraud and its not stealing. They offered their price and you accepted it.

Yep, but where there's a fault claim there is likely an innocent injured party who needs his rights protecting/losses recovering......

meanwhile, and at the risk of dragging the thread back on topic....

OP.......cathartic as a good old rant on the web can be, there are mechanisms for dealing with unfair treatment by insurers, the first stage is you raise a complain with the insurer and if you still aren't happy then you can refer it to the FOS
