katonia how can you be barking up the wrong tree if your OH has told you he's going to "start proceedings" whatever that means, and he's not giving you any money, and he's not contactable for you?

You need to protect yourself and your son, and as you have no income now from your OH, and you consider yourself to be no longer together with him, concentrate on sorting out your finances without him and somewhere to live.

Although all the text messages etc are understanably upsetting for you to see, there is absolutely NOTHING that you can do about them - and dissecting them does nothing to help the current situation. I understand that you need to vent about them - but your main concern has to be feeding yourself and your little one. You still have not answered whether or not your older child and step child are contributing to the family income - you will not be able to claim anything for them - as adults, they have to do that for themselves if they are not working.

We want to help, but we can't change what has already happened.
