Seeing that I am obviously abnormal, it would still be good to have the question explained. Don't you just love smart alecs?
The "Instruction Book" is totally separate to the Service & Warranty book which the o.p. doesn't yet have.
But, no. Whatever "it" is,(service details? ) are not in the Instruction Book. Even the last two mages.
Does "you" refer to the o.p. or me?0 -
Why not? Do you know anything about the Mazda DSR system or are you just making up scare stories?
Let me quote to you from Mazda. " independent garages, including companies like Halfords, can register to use the Mazda DSR system allowing full service histories to be maintained"
From time to time I have had to use an independent garage and never had a problem with them not being able to access or update my Mazda DSR.
I couldn't disagree more.
Mazda make it very difficult to register on the system for independent garages.
They also won't accept owners providing a copy of the invoice to prove that a service has been completed, so that they can update the system, despite the fact they say they will.
In short, their system is a waste of space.
That said , a service book is also does not prove the service that a service has taken place. Unscrupulous second-hand car dealers have been known to falsify these.
My recommendation is to keep all invoices of services undertaken as it is the best proof for when you come to sell the car.0 -
...In your position I would drive the car back to the dealers, park it across the entrance to the workshop and refuse to remove to move until I had the Service Book in my hand ( I once did this with a brand new Renault that had an overheating problem - It was fixed in 10 mins)
If I were a dealer manager and you did that to me over a service book, I would probably just get a few strong mechanics to move your car.
Or alternatively call the Police to see if they will do you for obstruction if you were partially on public property.
Why go nuclear over a small and probably easily solvable issue?0 -
Hello,
I bought a brand new car (Toyota Yaris) in January and everything was fine, however I did not get a service book with the car.
I spoken to the salesman about this on his after sales call and he said not to worry and ill get a service book when I come in for my first service. Thought nothing of it, however I have just thought that I do not know my cars service requirements. I have checked online and its a 10,000 mile service interval so I am not worried now. I am just thinking is the salesman setting me up for something or is there something untoward going on in not having the service book immediately.
Thanks
Be polite and don't go nuclear yet.0 -

I sent an email asking for access, with details of my business website and had access within 48hrs. Hardly difficult.0
