Not sure what cg and lg stand for, but go for the one that ticks most of the boxes and esp th one your child is most happiest with. Also just a suggestion but why don't you visit both schools with your child tomorrow and that might help decide. But well done in getting a place :j0

Hi m-u-m, is cg for carrick grammar? My daughter and husband where both very impressed with this school. Daughter put it as her second choice and for a while was considering it for her first choice but then she decided on her original choice of BRA. Good suggestion from sugarmummy about going back and looking at both schools. If both are equally good and distance isn't an issue with either, I would go with what my child feels happiest attending. Let us know where you decide.0

Can I ask all you lucky people who are through the AQE process which papers you bought for practice. Hv been using CEA but other years with elder kids had used PMP.
Wondering which ones best replicated AQE - style and result prediction for real thing.
Thanks all x0 -
Hi BOBS
I found transferready.co.uk had great papers for building up to the AQE. Transfertest.com was also very good and they sell the past papers for AQE and GL as well as CCEA. Finally, you can buy the past AQE papers from AQE itself.0 -

Hi m-u-m
Glad to hear you have 2 grammar places to choose from (that's if I'm right in assuming you have been offered Carrick Grammar and Larne Grammar?
Did CG actually ring you today, Sunday?
What was your son's original order of preference?
Choose whichever one your child is happiest with. I know you have said he was devastated not to get into Antrim Grammar but at least he still has the option of a grammar. I don't know much about LG but have heard very positive views from parents with kids in CG. The only other thing I've noticed is that LG takes in lower scores than CG every year - but do what suits yous best and remember to take into account the travel time to whichever school you settle on.
In the meantime, you never know, a place may come up in AG.
Did you appeal?
Did you put your son's name on their waiting list and if yes, do you know what position he is on said list?0 -

thanks flymetothemoon, will have a look at those sites.
Primary school have asked us not to use AQE as they will use them as practice tests leading up to exam0 -
Just for info Larne Grammar took down to 92 this year, their highest ever, and Carrickfergus Grammar took a 78 their lowest ever. My friends child was told that she would have got in no problem with 83 but they didn't even put it down as an option as has been higher in previous years.0
