Cherryscone - try not to worry if you look up the ETI inspection on your local schools you may find local secondary schools equally as good if not better than the local grammar - I did.

I have and they are way near the bottom the only half decent one is 15 miles and not in our catchment area The school my son wants to go to last year lowest score was 103 the year before was 100 and i have heard this year of it being higher :o;)

Hi inzane_mummy, is Campbell told you what no. Your son on the waiting list? What do you thing the chance are?

I replied to your PM :)

I swear I check my phone every 5 mins, ive decided to not fill the form in and send it back to the education authority. I will wait out over the summer for a place if needs to. My son is happy enough to do that

    hi
I've been reading this thread from November time and never posted, It kept me sane through this whole transfer process. my son got a place in his first choice grammar school but now he saying he would of preferred another school. Can I place his name on a waiting list for another school?

Kelsal, you would need to ring up and ask, but he would just be put on a waiting list like everyone else.

Thanks, I rang up the school today and they emailed me a form to fill in. Was just wondering if u could definitely accept a place in one school and also be on the waiting list for another?

It's a shame about the secondary schools - I am very grateful I have 2 local secondary schools that are great but the local grammar in a recent inspection received inadequate in standards & achievements so even though my son got 96 we opted for an non selective secondary, it really takes the pressure off. Good luck to anyone going through this again this year & I will keep everything crossed for anyone still trying to get their child placed in a school they are happy with.

yes you can, and definitely accept your child's place because there are children out there that would snap it off you and as there is no guarantee your child would be accepted in the other school either.

    hi flymetothemoon
there lowest score taken i was band 4 my son just missed it by 1 mark and i had special circumstances so it mustn't have done him any good. so i,m putting in an appeal
do i have to send in all the relevant info for the school he was accepted into or just wait to see the outcome of the appeal :(

Hi BOBS,That's my situation at the moment.

its unbelievable that they think a child could travel that far to and from school every day !!
