    Sca11ion, thank you for taking the time to put together the data. I think it will really be of benefit to the "AQE parents" next year. Thanks also to all the parents who have posted there scores and given advice and support over this stressful time.

    Scallion thanks for posting that little table. I just thought it might be helpful to people to see all the scores that have been posted on here in rank order so here goes :

    AQE
    SCORE %
    (from 2 best papers)

    118 = 91%
    115 = 91 %
    115 = 91%
    112 = 87%
    111 = 85%
    111 = 84 %
    107 = 82%
    106 = 82%
    106 = 82%
    105
    103 = 80%
    103 = 80%
    98 = 78%
    96 = 74 %
    88 = 66%
    78 = 54%

    Well said Craftyc. Without a doubt many many people have appreciated thiis forum and it will be very helpful for folks facing aqe and gl for first time. This amount of information simply wasn"t around when my DD did aqe in 2010. This forum has brought clarity and tranparency to what was a mystery to most parents in the first few years.
  • I also want to say how pleased I am to have found this forum, I have used it for both my children going through this whole process and it has been a great comfort knowing I'm not on my own.So just wanted to say thanks for all the support and the laughs I've had :)
  • I agree with the recent posts that this forum (and previous AQE forums on this site) have been really useful for parents with children going through the transfer tests. For me personally, the debate around age standardisation has been really interesting and I am very thankful to all parents for sharing their child's raw scores. It has helped dispel a lot of 'myths' that have flown around for years, such as all July birthdays get 6 marks taken off, while all June birthdays get 6 marks added on! My two children literally straddle the cut off date for starting primary education (one child born 1st July = youngest, other born 2nd July= oldest!) so I have experienced both extremes with regard to age standardisation! Thanks everyone for contributing.

    Personally - ditto - I'd like to say HUGE thanks to Veggie NI for starting it, and all the others who contributed (flymetothemoon eg). Like some others, I have another child going through this mess of a transfer test in a few years - the more info we can get, the more we can understand and prepare our children.
  • Hi we got our raw scores back.
    My son got paper 1- 54, paper 2 - 63 and paper 3 - 57.
    He got an AQE score of 121 and has an end of May birthday so as you say standardisation does not have a major impact at all on raw to AQE scores.
  • Furby 76 congrats to you & your son.

    Brilliant score for one of the youngest kids doing the tests. You should be so proud as very few children achieve 120 or more in these tests.
  • Folk, I'm just editing the original RAW post every now and again when people put up their info (on page 30)

    Looks like the "age standardisation" (where they compare each child to their nearest month peers) makes little difference to the final AQE result (as others have pointed out)

    there are a couple of anomalies that I can see so far.

    Flymetothemoon DS higher RAW and later month than another, but same AQE score.

    Three 116 RAW (91%) resulting in AQE scores of 115 July, 118 October, 115 November. So maybe the October group was scoring lower than the July and November groups (which would explain the higher AQE score)?

    Also seems to be a see-saw position around the 100 AQE mark - 80% in Jan and Nov resulting in an AQE 103 - and 78% Aug resulting in AQE 98.

    As we have all said, the more info we can get, the more that parents going through it in years to come will understand.
