A company went door to door today along my street asking if I would be interested in a free quote on having a specialist treatment done on my roof tiles to give them the colour and look of a new roof and also protect against weather, moss etc.
They were friendly and no hard sell - just left a leaflet about Cosy Home X-PRO Tec.
Has anyone else heard of them - good or bad or even had the treatment done on their house?
thanks:)

Sounds like an over rated - over priced scam. If I were you I wouldn't touch em with a barge pole. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Search aqua shield on this forum.
Most try and charge 30-40 £ sq mtr which is the price of a new roof.
a few years ago (5-6) there were 3 companies in the uK doing this, then the explosion and there were 50, of which most were cowboys.
B carefull and I would say DON'T

I have reported this company to trading standards..they claim to have a PR scheme paid by the government and when I told the persistent girl from this company I did not want a roof assessment her reply was " well we will have to at some point" trying to make out it was a government backed company IT IS NOT!!! After I told her no for the third time, she hung up on me.....AVOID THIS COMPANY AND REPORT IF THEY HARRASS YOU....0

I have now written 3 letters to this company, no responce to my complaint.
Instead they sent a big bully boy round to shaken me up and to make me pay up for a job that isn't even finished.
So i contacted the Advice people again!
Still heared nothing from this company...
Now when i look they have changed their company name 3 times and on some websites are registered as Dormant???0 -

It seems as if the moans and groans are about aquashield and the thread seems to have become cross threaded, I have used cosy homes x protec and I am completely satisfied with their excellent service etc and my roof is now performing as a roof should do for a fraction of the cost of a re-roof. Work done 100% as advertised, it was completely restored then coated (waterproof protected) and fully guaranteed by this very reputable company. Recommend to anyone !!!!!0

Hi boxhill
MSE Forum users might read this as spam. This is always a possibility when a new poster praises a company with their first post.
Could you please enlighten us all with exactly what was your problem with your roof, how it is now performing better, what waterproof protection has been done, who has verified and checked the product and workmanship, all the guarantee details, and the details of the company, any sub contractors, and any franchises.
Once all this has been posted it might be that we all go forward and recommend this company. Until then it must remain "Buyer Beware".0 -
hi, all I did was see about reviews and thought I would mention that I was completely satisfied, this all seems a bit complex and I dont even know what spam means !!
Anyway my roof had had no maintenance done over the years and I had initially called in a roofer to see what could be done and I was offered a remedial repair to the ridges and verges, the price quoted was rather a lot for this and a re roof was out of the question.
I then had cosy homes representative call and I accepted the appointment for a free survey, everything was properly explained and I could now see from the photographic survey that highlighted the defects and problems etc.
I had the work done and used a finance option with barclays which was arranged by cosy homes and therefore I have a bank guarantee on top of the one with cosy homes, barclays wouldnt be a finance partner with cosy homes if there was anything untoward, so I am now completely satisfied with the work, the product, the installation and the end result.0
