Please add me to July challenge for £31
My month starts on Saturday and only includes food. Other stuff is put in a household budget.
I started my challenge when the "Living for 5 days for £5" was going on. I didn't do that, but just imagined myself being put in a situation where I only had £7 a week to feed myself, this was 105 days ago and I'm still doing it. I had food in the freezer and cupboards and have been working through those items.
So I allow myself £7 a week and for 105 days = £105 + 34p worth of coins I've found + coupons, Nectar points and Nectar gift cards I get from surveys. I've bought £148.85 worth of food but only paid out £105.07 leaving me 0.27 until Saturday
    GC - Oct £36.17/£31
    GC - Sep £35.56/£30:o
    GC - Aug £30.73/£31
    GC - Jul £30.80/£31
  • I'd like to join the challenge this month please. I've got into the habit of food shopping nearly every day and I'm sure it's costing us a fortune!

I'd like to start with a budget of £400 for this month to see how we get on. This is for me, DH, and a fussy 14 year old!

Oh and our month starts from this weekend!
  • New to MSE and this sort of challenge, I've just moved house and really need to find some money to decorate and settle in - so need to make cuts elsewhere.

Going to aim for a £100 budget for July!

    Hi everyone :hello:

I would like to be in for July with my new down-graded budget of £200 again this month. I am still in June until the bitter end and so don't know if I'll make it but should be near fingers xd.

A big thanks to Zippy for the thread, Coxy for the budgets and Blue-green for the recipes :D

A very warm welcome to all the new peoples and hope you have great fun and save loads of money on here. Keep posting and reading and ask if you need help. Great folks on this thread :)

    Hi everyone,

Sorry I've not been around the last few days - I've had heatstroke so I've been very poorly. I'm a gardener and have never had a problem before so it's hit me hard. Extreme headache, violent vomiting and delirious. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. On the plus side, I've lost 3lbs in weight, so every cloud.....

Anyway I digress, budgets updated to here :)

Our July started yesterday. I'm off to Costco today now that I feel better and will no doubt visit Tesco too. Will update sig later.

Good luck everyone for July, especially those on their hols and trying to budget for the children being off - not easy!!!

    Hi there :j

I would love to join the challenge this month as I can't even reveal what I spent last month as I'm just too ashamed :o:o needless to say it has been a very big wakeup call as to why I am in so much debt.

Anyway I am going to try and keep to a budget this month of £500 to include shopping, toiletries and takeaways/ eating out. I know it's a lot but believe me it is a significant drop to what I have been spending. This is for Hubby and myself and our 3 dd's and our pets.

Our freezers are full and our cupboards have plenty of tins and packets so I'm cautiously optomistic. Any money saved will go towards debt busting and (whispers) Christmas!

I folks, could I join this month's challenge please? I really need to get back on track with cooking, food planning and budgeting.

My month starts today as it is my payday. Could you put me down for £150 for July please?

I will be away on holiday during this month so ideally should come in at less than this.

Making a pledge now to post daily to keep me on track as I have lost it big time recently..
