Am in again for June - please can I go down for a target of £250 again. Thanks
My month started on 21st May, and have made the mistake of winging it since then, doing stoopid things like shopping without a list or a meal planJust totted up my receipts and am at £163.81 already :eek: Oh dear, quite a bit of belt tightening coming up!!!

Evening everyone!
I've just declared at £130 for May. Well over target, but well under last month's total, so not toooooo upset.
Did my first shop of June today. Was supposed to be tom, but I want to do something fun with the children, and those two things aren't exactly simpatico!
Anyway, spent the grand total of £2.39, and I shouldn't need anything much for the rest of the week. I have a small list going, so may go Thursday, but not in desperate need right now.
Night all,

I got the wicker basket too!

Hi all. Hope you don't mind me joining in please?
I've been cutting down spending for a couple of months and the penny has dropped that I can spend way less and eat more healthily.
So I'm starting off in June 2014 (on 31st May) with a £30 per week budget for 2.5 people.
I spent £24.22 yesterday at MrTs for our weeks meals which leaves £5.78 for the rest of the week if needed. Have got lots of eggs, flour etc to make cakes and treats and still have the half sack of potatoes so will try HM crisps this week.
So first budget is £150.. Glad to be along.

I did really well yesterday I made left over veg soup
I fried some onion and 2 medium potatoes. I then scraped around and a put any left over green vegetables we had left - small amount of asparagus, half a courgette, broad beans and French beans and some runner beans from the freezer. Added about a litre of stock which was in the freezer and boiled it all up with a pinch of salt. Then put it in the blender before serving. It was really nice. Got some left for lunch tomorrow."Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."Weight loss challenge:j: week 1~ Napoleon Bonaparte

Hi not been online for a few days but got paid on Friday and budgets spilt up. Entertainment budget put aside, savings transfered and I withdrew my grocery budget of 250.
Did a monthly freezer, cupboard, cleaning and toilette shop. I also have enough fridge stuff for approx ten days. Did a big shop at Aldi using two of the money off vouchers. Plus did a small shop at tesco using another till spit. I have done a monthly meal plan and have enough in now to make all meals for the month. Got £72.90 now left in purse for fresh items like milk, fruit, ham etc. freezer still full of reduced bread items and bought enough flour & yeast for the bread machine. Hubby away now for two weeks with work so my budget should be very realistic for me and the kids.'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0 -
£89 spend to report in Ald! on Friday, if I'd known I was going to spend that much I would have bought another paper and done 2 shops to make the most of 2 £5 off vouchers, but never mind I got loads for my money and feel well stocked up.
I change jobs this week and will be home later than normal. Going to see how it goes, but if it's a struggle making tea I'm going to look into batch cooking next weekend. I already freeze leftovers but it's usually odd portions here and there and maybe I need to think about freezing family sized ones.0 -
First shop of the month. £20.57 spent, which leaves me with £4.43 for the rest of the week for top-ups.
Meal plan says this should last me until the weekend, off to make a big batch of HM lentil & bacon soup for work lunches.
