Should be fine til Thursday without spending any more on food, as I baked lots of biscuits as lunch box fillers and have some sausage rolls in the freezer that will be fine for the kids too. Also my lettuce has finally grown so just had my first homegrown salad of the year, yummy! Just need the spring onions to have a growth spurt now!! Also should be able to have our first potatoes from the garden by the end of the week too. It makes such a huge difference to the food budget!

Good afternoon everyone - hope you are all having a good Sunday!
I am just about to go to Aldi for my first big shop of the month - I have the DM voucher and need to get cleaning stuff and bin bags etc. as well as meat and cheese and fruit and a bit of veg.
Do many of you have breakfast cereal? I tend to not buy it as I think it is a bit unhealthy, but last month I bought some shredded wheat and we all thought it was beyond horrible!! So I now have a load of it left - any recipe ideas?
xspender can you post the recipe for the butternut squash dish on your meal plan? It sounds lovely and I have a BNS in the fridge.
annie99 what kind of bike did you get? I would really like one but I am really tall and find that most kinds are too small framed for me and I feel daft!
Oh well - off to Aldi - it's really busy these days since the TV ad campaign.Jane

Went to Aldi and spent £55 (would have been £60 but had the £5 coupon). When I got home I entered all the items on my receipt into Tescos online grocery, using Tescos own brand as comparisons and to my amazement the cost (not including delivery) at Tesco would have been £92. That is really amazing!Jane

First spend today for June challenge. Went to aldi and used the second voucher from the paper. I stocked up on cereal and cat food! So spent £42.43. Pleased with that. Just realised that it is a 5 week month so going to have to be really careful to come within budget.Grocery challenge-
