Purchased some sandals today. They were £16.99. They came up on the till as £11.20 which I paid.

Anyway it is only when I got home and unpacked them (and the receipt) that I realised the receipt said "Full Millystripe Tee" and had a product code. I put the product code into their website and it is a T shirt, which is £11.20.

I do not get what the *girl* on the till has done - she has scanned a T shirt but I purchased sandals. My query is, that should I have any problems with the sandals I will not be able to take them back.

Of course, I did not pay the full amount but that is there fault, not mine.

Luckily the scanners did not go off in the shop when I left - the receipt did not correlate to what I purchased.

I would happily have paid the full amount. My complaint is that if I needed to take them back for any reason I could not do so.

Then why didn't you? You knew something was not right but chose not to say anything. If a higher price had come up would you have said something?

Why would you think the scanner would go off because you have the wrong receipt?

It's sports direct. There prices are often all over the place and things reduced. Didn't think anything of it until I got home.

No what I meant is if the *woman* who served me didn't take the security tag off the shoes and it went off I would have no proof. I don't get what she did. She scanned a t shirt instead of a box of shoes?

I notice you keep referring to the cashier as the 'silly woman/girl'.

How do you know it was her fault? You had seen the price was £16 but didn't bat an eyelid when it came up over £5 cheaper so it could equally be you who was 'silly'.

How do you know the barcode wasn't labelled incorrectly and she had in fact scanned the label on the item you took to the till as she was meant to?

Now that's out of the way, to answer your question, why don't you phone them/go back in and explain what happened. Yes you may have to pay the extra money but then they could provide you with the correct receipt if you;re worried. If you're really not that bothered then just keep quiet.

So you wouldn't have thought anything of paying more than £16.99? After all, prices are often all over the place, it's Sports Direct.

I'd suggest you stop calling people 'silly' when your rant is exactly that. The sales assistant made a mistake, as we all do at times, but you took advantage of it.

Knowing Sports Direct you wouldn't be able to take it back regardless, right receipt or not!

The sales girl is being called 'Silly' as that is what people who have never worked in the retail sector call them, as slightly lower than dog muck on the bottom of their shoe.

It is either Silly, Stupid, Spotty, Ignorant, Chav or pathetic.
