You really have three options...
eBay 99p/no reserve
Scrap
Break it yourself and flog the bits.
The third is going to be most lucrative. The first is going to be most hassle.0 -
Cheers for all the responses guys, yep really got to get it running again... have been trickle charging the batteries I have, but won't seem to turn over. perhaps I can link them together? or is this a terribly bad idea (you'll kill the electrics maybe)?

Hmm, you could be looking at 600-800 for a garage to sort everything out on that list. Sell on ebay for spares/repair.0

Audi Techs could diagnose an airbag warning light? Uhmmm... guessing they didn't try very hard then.0

As already said, honest description with lots of good photos on eBay. Highest bidder wins, collects - no problems.
Selling on Gumtree, Autotrader, free ads, etc you just end up with hassle from people offering buttons, mongs phoning up at 9pm at night wanting to come round straight away when you're already in bed, and other similar time wasters.0 -

Entirely believable. They probably just plugged it into the diagnostic computer, only to find the diagnostic computer said... " ". Ergo, they couldn't diagnose it.
A half-way competent autoelectrician should be able to sort it fairly easily. There's no brain surgery involved.0 -

Don't you mean third is going to be most hassle too? I'd thinki breaking it would definitely be most lucrative but then having to auction all those parts would be far more hassle than a few viewings on the car.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

(I'm presuming you meant "couldn't"?)

Yes I meant couldn't. Airbags really aren't a particularly complicated part of a car, and the airbag warning light can be switched off with absolute ease. If there is a genuine fault, the airbag light would switch on relatively soon after switching it off. On VW's (which share many ECU's with Audi's) an airbag warning light can switch on if a battery goes flat for example.
Just reaks of a half arsedness.0 -
They were kind enough to charge me £80 for failing to diagnose it... very Audi garage that is. Should I have got my money back? Its about half the value of the car by the sound of it!
Thanks for all the replies everyone... guess I'll have a look at webuyanyoldpieceofcrap.com or some such.
Anyone recommendations / best buys from such companies?Friendly greeting!0
