Sister having a baby, want to get a present that will really mean something

I made a family baby a crocheted blanket. My crochet skills are pretty bad and I literally just did a basic stitch over and over again until I made this huge blanket. It was clearly far too big, despite me following a pattern, and I was really nervous about giving it as a gift. It was so well received I was blown away, and it was used in some professional photos they had taken of the baby.

I also did a cross stitch, adding the baby's name and weight, date and time of birth etc once they were known and gave that as a gift a few days after the birth. We had it framed and took it along the first time we met the baby.

Often the sentimental things aren't expensive but knowing that someone has made a gift with love means a lot. OK so she won't want the blanket forever, but it's in the new born baby photos and she'll always know the cross stitch was made especially for her.

Sorry haven't had time to read whole of thread so may have been suggested but what about 'name a star' that's a personal gift - you buy the 'kit' then when the babies born they can name the star after the baby!
