Unwanted Phone Calls
Comments

See if your phone provider offers 'Choose to refuse' - we get it free with our landline provider; BT makes a small charge. You can list and block callers, who then get an engaged tone when they ring you; you can 'bar last call' even when number has been witheld. Between this, TPS and having ex-directory number we now get very few unwanted calls (TNS Global were the last lot who were extraordinarily persistent, and it was their unwanted harassment that drove me to finding out more about the Choose to refuse service)Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

Anyway point of post was to say my answer phone set up to pick call up after 2 rings, then ya have to leave a message. Anyone important is in the know to speak and I will pick up the call, if they're not in the loop they hang up or leave the message.
It therefore doesn't bother me who calls.or how often they call.
This is exactly what I do! If the cold calls are computer generated, the computer-generated voice just talks to itself, but more often than not, I find that the cold-calling computer just cuts off when my answer machine kicks in. Job done!
Thank you also to other posters for information on the Trucall device - very much appreciated.
