i have had loads of random rubbish calls on my mobile, makes me wonder if some dubious company has sold a load of phone numbers on, have you recently joined any survey sites or entered any competitions as they are the only 2 things i can think of that i have done within the last 2 weeks since these nuisance calls started, luckily for me on my mobile i can just block the numbers.
goal for 2014....i will manage money better ..must resist shopping..............:A

I don't want to unplug the phone as there calls either myself or OH are expecting. I'm on TPS and it doesn't work for non UK based calls.

I usually get spam calls about once every 2 weeks, which doesn't bother me, but 6 in 24 hours!! I'm also fed up with silent calls and those which just say "goodbye".

between the time I get up in the morning, and about 9pm, I just don't answer my home phone anymore, its always surveys or cold calls. I have an answermachine thats on silent so I don't get disturbed by the monotony of a recorded message leaving a message :rotfl:and my friends and family have my mobile number. If I do happen to be passing my home phone and it rings and I pick it up, as soon as the cold call spiel begins, I just put the phone down.

Borrow a chatty toddler. Encourage them to answer your calls for you. Or a mid teens Warhammer geek - they are to deny everything until they have explained *exactly* why Space Marines are better than Orks.
The real callers will try again in short bursts, or in the evening.

I had an unwanted call this morning, asking me if I wanted to join a site where they would filter 'unwanted ' calls.

    How silly is that.....

Lol - It will never happen as marketing is here for good and no matter what regulations are put in place you will just get more and more moving there marketing off shore to generate leads for UK based Company's.

Also being polite and or rude asking to have info removed works few and far between due to the fact that your number is on a database somewhere being resold over and over.

I came home today to 3 messages on landline answer phone thingy.
One was some woman who must not have heard the intro and she just kept saying hello, hellooo, hellow, helloooo.
Very funny, well made me laugh :D

Anyway point of post was to say my answer phone set up to pick call up after 2 rings, then ya have to leave a message. Anyone important is in the know to speak and I will pick up the call, if they're not in the loop they hang up or leave the message.
It therefore doesn't bother me who calls.or how often they call.

But if you have something like the TrueCall unit, you'll find that the calls gets less and less as the cold callers get the message that they won't get through. Honestly, I've had a TrueCall into for the past 18 months or so, I work from home so I was bombarded by calls, before I got one, I still seem to get at least one a day.

I wouldn't be without one now.

I just play along "windows" no we had new one's last year... accident? I don't remember an accident side effect of the accident..just talk nonsense if they say I have a problem with my computer I say I have a Remington typewriter. Most of the kids in call centres get bored before I do, oh and I also say it's £50 an hour for surveys and I keep asking them for their credit card number..

I have had a Callblocker for over twelve months, a lot cheaper than Truecall and does the same job.

Trucall is far better than the other call blockers. The call whisper feature is really effective - virtually all the junk calls are blocked but real calls all get through. It dodoesn't just rely on a list of dodgy numbers.
