6 in the past 24 hours!!!
3 yesterday from supposedly different companies saying they understood I had been in a car accident.
1 today wanting to know the name of my gas supplier
1 today wanting me to do a survey.
1 today telling me there was a fault on my computer.
And I appreciate the advice from the poster who advocates buying a Truecall, but I don't want to spend that sort of money.

If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Well, it solves your problem. A cheaper option is to unplug your handset, or turn the ringer to silent.
We have the technology - you pay what you think is's worth!0 -
Are you on the telephone preference lists?0

not sure how much truecall costs but following advice on these forums i got a callblocker last week, and it definitely is doing its job.
i have been registered for years with TPS which had been a good help until recent months,
i have not given my number to anyone or anything yet the calls escalated.
and yes i got the 'who supplies my energy call'. 'computer problem' 'surveys', 'silent calls'0 -
TPS is hopeless, so it's either something like TruCall or put up with it.
They are a wind up, but there seems to be very little way to stop them.
As we are ex directory, I have started to give Mail order firms my old mobile number (still in use, but rarely on), so at least it cuts down on firms selling our current numbers to these sellers.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
I don't want to unplug the phone as there calls either myself or OH are expecting. I'm on TPS and it doesn't work for non UK based calls.
I usually get spam calls about once every 2 weeks, which doesn't bother me, but 6 in 24 hours!! I'm also fed up with silent calls and those which just say "goodbye".If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I have noticed the silent calls increasing and the pre recorded ones , it does get annoying when you get interrupted . We're not at the call blocker level but I have also resorted to giving out an old mobile number that is rarely switched on0

I know you shouldn't have to spend money because little is done to cold callers and even more so for foreign callers but Truecall does work had it 4 years now not one single cold call get through despite then trying. I now getting them on mobile and never give that number out so I now use Mr. Number on Android which block persistent callers and anyone that withholds there number0

Hi everyone,
I am very interesting in this as I am getting more and more automated cold calls/silent calls etc. I was considering re-registering with TPS again, but read here with interest about their ineffectiveness.
Getting to my point - please can you tell me - what is a 'Truecall'?
Thank you.

Truecall is a device that your phone plugs in and the truecall plugs into phone socket it integrates callers. Family friends can bypass truecall and known cold callers get barred so phone doesn't even ring
