Ebay shop sellers question

Make no mistake; eBay are in a mess. They have changed the rules so many times and lost so many sellers. To stop the rot; they have bought out Gumtree and are now in the process of killing that off. They own PayPal so unfair competition there......My door is red or blue depending on which page you're on. I read somewhere that ebay were changing the doors to blue so that they didn't "compete" for attention so much with the ads that are now plastered across the site. But as usual, they've done a half-assed job of it and it's not consistent all over the site.
Think about it; you sell an item eBay charge a listing fee then they charge a final valuation fee and to top it all, you must have a PayPal account so your money gets paid there and PayPal charge you again!!! Why not give sellers a choice to have the money paid into WorldPay or any other similar internet facility? Americans' do not like competition, they have to swamp the market. Then when a new threat comes by way of competition, they buy it out with the express intention to ruin it thus preventing competition. It gets even better when we know they also find ways around paying UK taxes.0 -
Yes, they bought out Gumtree in May 2005 and they're still both going. Good theory;)Squeeky-squeeky wrote: »Make no mistake; eBay are in a mess. They have changed the rules so many times and lost so many sellers. To stop the rot; they have bought out Gumtree.0
