Alcohol can have a severe effect. Does he tend to have anything to drink in the evenings before you go up to bed?

I had this with one of my ex partners. At first I did everything I could to try and solve the problem, while he lay back and let me do the worrying.

One day he told me it was my fault as I was too sexy!!! Meaning too demanding. Eventually we really talked about it and he told me he had the problem forever. His wife dumped him because of it and she was a real emascualting type of woman.

I ended up feeling really fat and unattractive. Nothing worked. Neither not putting him under pressure nor leaving it all alone for ages.

No viagra in those days, but by the time he had an appointment with a sex therapist (and wanted me to go) our relationship was in tatters.

To cut a long story short, we split, and I found myself a man with a good old stiffer which repaired my self esteem. However he was a complete nightmare..............................

The point is that it is mainly his problem to solve and not yours. You can help but he needs to want to solve it too.

Carnitine versus androgen administration in the treatment of sexual dysfunction, depressed mood, and fatigue associated with male aging.

    Zipvit do Carnitine quite reasonably.

For a while I had an indwelling catheter (pipe leading urine out of bladder)

I also regularly take carnitine because it is useful for dealing with fatigue from Post polio syndrome (also works for MS & MECFS fatigue)

Although I don't have a problem with erectile dysfunction I did have a problem the nights I failed to leave sufficient room for expansion when tieing down my indwelling catheter pipework. Nocturnal tumenscence isn't usually a problem but the extra strength of erection caused by the carnitine caused considerable discomfort. For anyone with MS ME CFS fatigue who considers using carnitine don't take it late at night or you will be "up" all night. You can take as much as you like (till you get the runs then lower the number) duing the day but if you leave them till later in the day, you've been warned.

Those already using Viagra may like to read. Acetyl-L-carnitine plus propionyl-L-carnitine improve efficacy of sildenafil in treatment of erectile dysfunction after bilateral nerve-sparing radical retropubic prostatectomy.

This post is very good - thanks for sharing with us ilace.

My oh has erectile problems too. He had an internet (but still sexual - DIY), affair about 2 yrs ago but all forgiven now - when he blamed me for us not having sex (any excuse) but when first back together things were fine. Now it's not too good - just like your partner. He now only thinks of sex on holiday and has told me to get a toy as he doesnt/wont sort himself out by going to docs. Not looking forward to our next holiday as I feel I'm only being used as a 'holiday toy and then it's not very enjoyable! I've tried to talk to him and he says he will do something and then doesnt!

We are mid 50's and I feel more than ok about sex whereas he seems to have gone off if!

    Not sure of next step!

    Garlic and Erectile Dysfunction
Is Garlic a natural cure for male impotence?
Garlic has been heralded as a wonder drug for thousands of years and has been used for medicinal purposes by the Babylonians, Greeks, Egyptians, Romans and Chinese. It has been used to combat the plague, prevent gangrene, treat hypertension and ward off evil spirits.
But is it the dietary equivalent of Viagra?

"Having a problem maintaining an erection can be socially embarrassing"

Having a problem maintaining an erection can be socially embarrassing - 2.3 million men in the UK are predicted to have erectile dysfunction but most are too embarrassed to admit it.
For most men erectile dysfunction is physiological and not psychological. In order to maintain an erection the arteries need to have an efficient blood flow. Erectile dysfunction indicates a hardening of the arteries, which means it could be an early biomarker of impending cardiovascular disease.
Garlic contains allicin, which improves blood flow. We took eight willing volunteers with erectile dysfunction and fed them four cloves of raw garlic every day for three months to see if we could improve their chances of maintaining an erection, and, in the long-term prevent more serious risks of disease.
