I am currently looking to buy a new phone, as I rendered my current phone useless with a cracked screen yesterday
I will be using it with a sim only deal
I cant decide between the S4 and nexus 5. I have found the S4 for £379 in argos, cheapest i have seen it and only £40 more than the nexus.
Does anyone have any comments or advice or experience with either phone that might help me be less indecisive and buy my new phone (I'm now using an old iphone as an emergency spare and I really don't like it)
Thanks in advance for any comments

Personally I would go Nexus as it is stock Android with none of Samsung's interface on top. It is also guaranteed updates to get updates for a good while direct from Google.0

The Nexus will be better than the Samsung in almost every way. The S4 has a better camera in my opinion. Have you considered the Oneplus One? I would buy that if I was in the market for a new phone.0

Of what you have said the Nexus, however have you considered the LG G2 one of the best phones on the market number 2 in stuff top 10 and a similar price or the HTC One not as good as the LG but a much nicer phone than any of the ones mentioned."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0

Cracked screens can of course be repaired in many instances.
The G2 mentioned above has a great battery life if that is important to you.0 -
For me it would have to be anything but the S5. The N5 looks a really good phone and all the others mentioned are also good phones too.0

Definately Nexus 5, and you can find it sim free for 299£ on carphonewarehouse site.0

Thanks all.
Didnt realise how popular the nexus would be - although for some reason i still lean towards the s4??? I may well end up tossing a coin
Thanks for the other suggestions, but im not going to look - I'm indecisive enough with out increasing my choices lol.
Does anybody here have the s4 and know if the keyboards on it have the numbers and punctuation marks on the main keyboard? I'm currently borrowing an old iphone, and its getting on my nerves having to go into a different screen to write numbers and punctuation?? I'm used to it all on one screen on my s2. This may be a deal breaker!0 -
You can't really let the keyboard be a deal breaker really can you?
I don't like the keyboard on my current phone but its no odds because i just installed another better one that i prefer. Thats why they have google play store, to let you change things!“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
You can install dozens of different keyboards on any Android device. You are not stuck with whatever it comes with, unlike with apple devices.0

Go for the Nexus.0
