Faulty sunglasses - Amazon

Their functionality is not affected by the logo - and if making some sort of 'fashion statement' is important, then it's probably wise to buy from a designer outlet.
It may be that if they were sold as guaranteed to be genuine, and the OP can prove it said that, and then it was established they were fake, then Amazon might like to discuss this with the seller, but they probably won't want to get involved.
Other than that, it would have to be private action, against the seller, and how much is a logo falling off a pair of sunglasses worth?
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

Yes it is, if part of their function is fashion. SoGA describes it as "fitness for all the purposes for which goods of the kind in question are commonly supplied" - not just a single purpose. It may be that if they were sold as guaranteed to be genuine, and the OP can prove it said that, and then it was established they were fake, then Amazon might like to discuss this with the seller, but they probably won't want to get involved.
You don't sell anything as 'guaranteed to be genuine'. If the description says Ray-Ban, it is expected that a genuine Ray-Ban product is supplied.
In any case, it is only supposition they are fake at this point.Other than that, it would have to be private action, against the seller, and how much is a logo falling off a pair of sunglasses worth?
It very much depends on how much they paid for the sunglasses.0 -
Superglue the logo back on if it's that important.0

If these are genuine then speak to Rayban if you are getting nothing from the seller, they were excellent when I needed a repair done last year, i sent mine off and they were returned to me 48 hours later, pretty sure it was a new pair rather than a repair but I cant be certain as they may have just given them a good clean:beer:0

As far as I know, private sellers aren't bound by the sale of goods act.
Having looked at Raybans, on their site, the logo is small, and looks as though a dab of superglue would solve the immediate problem.
If I bought so called designer stuff from anywhere other than an official outlet, I wouldn't assume they are genuine unless it stated that.

Not quite correct.
Private sellers are not bound by all parts of the SOGA, but one of the parts that do cover these sales is the one that states the goods must be as described.
If sunglasses are sold as being RayBans then they must be genuine and not counterfeit.
saying that, it's as ThumbRemote stated. it's still only supposition that the glasses are not genuine.0 -
Really? Over a pair of sunglasses? Inappropriate.
Really?
I would be naffed off if I had received some of the comments that have been posted. He bought faulty goods and wanted to know how to get restitution, not be criticised over his purchase. Raybans have been around for decades - a reputable brand of sunglasses - not a 'designer' who has had his logo attached for a massive hike in the price on an otherwise cheap item.0 -

Oh come on. We have all heard of RayBans. However, the OP declined to answer exactly where he bought the sunglasses and kicked off extremely childishly. If they were real then yes it would be a poor show. But suspicions that they aren't, are valid.0 -
