Faulty sunglasses - Amazon

Options
I recently purchased some Ray Ban sunglasses from a seller via Amazon. They broke after six weeks, I have since contacted the seller via Amazon but to no avail and then filed a claim with Amazon who have told me that as I didn't return the faulty goods within 14 days, there is nothing they can do and I should contact the manufacturer. What are my rights - are Amazon liable to refund me? Any advice please.

Well what was the correspondence between yourself and the seller?

I'm sorry but I doubt if you have a leg to stand on if it was a private seller, you say they broke after 6 weeks so they weren't faulty when you got them, you broke them and that's hardly the seller's fault.

What is wrong with the sunglasses? If it is a fault and not damage I believe it is assumed to have been present at the point of sale if it occured within the first 6 months of sale.
  • one of the rayban logo pins on the arm fell off. it's no different to buying a lacoste jumper and having half the crocodile fall off. it renders the the item unwearable.

Really? The absence of a logo makes them unwearable?

I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest it's no different to buying a 'Lucoste' jumper and having half the crocodile fall off. ;)

Sounds like a fake if the logo just fell off.

Did you pay a rayban price or a fake price

Sound like fake glasses, but the only purpose of sunglasses, is to keep the sun out of your eyes, and the loss of a logo won't hinder that.

Best advice is that if you want genuine designer gear, is to buy it from either a designer outlet, or a reputable, well known shop - you will pay more, but they will be the real deal

You get what you pay for.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
