Despite the popular myth of an overheating housing market,
reality and facts paint a wholly different picture...

I'm sure the resident bubble troll will say otherwise.0 -
"Prices in the vast majority of the country's regions remain 10pc lower than at their peak almost seven years ago."
This fails to factor in growth and is only a snapshot of where we are now.
How will the market look 2-3 years from now considering the rate of price increases there are? The average house price in the UK is now 250,000k (an increase of 4.9 per cent year-on-year).
The fact is, wages are stagnant, cost of living is up and people are more and more stretched each month and are finding themselves priced out of the market.
Something has to give.0 -

You shouldn't take Labour Party slogans as the gospel, lukeh.
Wage rises are outstripping inflation now.

First off, I am not into labour / tory comparisons quabbles.
"A raising at a rate of 1.8 per cent, up from 1.3 per cent."
Current inflation rate is 1.6%!
.2 percent. Woopee i'm rich!
Screw the food bank queue, off to the car salesroom!0 -

A neighbour of mine has just sold their house for 8% less than they purchased it for in 2005.
Obviously I'm not in London where the media agenda is being written.0 -

....isn't a fact at all.
