As a Sky Go customer I'm actually pretty appalled that I am treated differently to a Now TV customer. I still PAY for a service I was unable to receive. I would expect some sort of refund/voucher/half price next month deal. Now I wonder if I will bother to keep my subscription because everyone knows there are services out there that allow streaming of Sky channels for free.

I was watching the last of the F1 on Sky Sports F1 and I thought perhaps my internet had dropped. I then realised it was the Sky service. I tried their online help support line and waited 30 minutes and gave up looking at the busy message.

Sky tried desperately to keep me on their broadband when they bought out Be Broadband (the only decent broadband supplier I've ever had) but I switched to Virgin 120mb which was faster and cheaper than Sky. Sky offered no discount and said it was my choice.... not a hard choice.

I'm moving home soon and will have the choice between keeping Virgin or switching to Sky (they have both destroyed good broadband suppliers from emerging) and I was tempted to get a Sky package (TV/phone/bb) but I now I'll have to think more carefully before deciding.

Pretty unimpressed considering I only really use the Sky Go for F1 and some football matches. Perhaps Sky can be forced to withdraw their claims of 'Watch Sky Sports F1 on your tablet, phone and Sky Go service" message as false advertising?

    Rant over!

Since SkyGo is included "free" to all Sky subscribers, it's difficult to see how you can be owed any refund.

I do agree the service should be more reliable, though...

It was £5 a month the last time I checked. One needs a top package for it to be 'free'.

No, Sky Go is free for everyone with Sky - what you can watch depends on your channels package obviously. Sky Go Extra costs an additional £5 a month and allows you to watch content like films offline (again content depends on what channels you subscribe to). I've used it to get films for a long-haul flight. They quite often offer you a free trial which you can cancel. Keep an eye on your emails.

I used the Now TV service yesterday for the very first time and since I'm a Man City fan I was a little bit miffed to say the least. That said I got an email this morning promising a full £9.99 refund in the next 5 days and a day pass code valid for 12 months so at least they've reacted in a positive way.
I'll save my code for a match next season.

GoT was on last night and it crashed again. Talk about bad publicity.

I had got the freebie deal of a 24 hour NowTV pass that Martin had alerted me to a few weeks ago, I saved it for Sunday but missed a large chunk of the match, although mine didn't go down until quite a while after I saw Martin's tweets and it did come back before the final whistle.

But I've just had an email from NowTV offering me 2 more 24 hour passes as compensation.

So, despite the terrible 'service' on Sunday, I appreciate 'stuff' does happen and at least they are acknowledging this and compensating me for it.

Now I have to decide what to save these passes for!

To say these outages are a glitch really underestimates their frequency, duration and effect. The NowTv community shows how widespread they are, and how Now/Sky seem to have factored in this lack of service as acceptable. By making it almost impossible to contact them, and by delaying responses, denying there is a problem, and failing to communicate, the Organization shows how it really regards its customers. Failure to provide goods or service is a basic contractual offence, but Now seem to think if they ignore protest it will all blow over-until the next crash. I am still waiting for a promised email outlining recompense for May 11th. I had to chase hard for similar failure for 27 April, and many thousands of others are in the same situation. Corporate indifference that makes Ryan Air look good

You may be right, but continuing to be a customer and simply chasing "recompense" each time the service fails is not as effective as simply cancelling once and for all. Now TV is hardly the most essential TV service and there are other providers to choose from.
