Could you try Freecycle, see is there anyone trying to get rid of some old ones.
I made my own, i went to one of those reclamation yards for the timber and they're a lot stronger than the average shop bought ones.

d123 I think a fence made of bricks is called a "wall". I used google to ascertain that this is in fact correct.

Really? Wow! So you would call this a wall?

And this is also a wall?

Perhaps your use of Google is a little lacking ;).

They look like dwarf walls with a fence on top.

We don't have any dogs, but my neighbour does. They had 3 fence panels broken in storms and left it nearly 4 years before replacing them. They used to stand outside with their 2 dogs to make sure they didn't go through the gap!

Their excuse was that if they replace with the same panels they could be damaged in future storms.

So now, 4 years on, they've just replaced a 5 foot high fence, that couldn't be seen through, with a 3 foot high fence that you can see through. So they can now see straight into our conservatory and I can't sit outside anymore as they've put their table and chairs right up next to the fence and are sat out there even at 8am.

I don't think they see anything wrong with this as they still talk to us and have told other neighbours how they like and feel comfortable with us. The problem now seems to be ours, should we put a 2nd fence on our side to give us our privacy back, but that could make them feel that we don't like them. Awkward. Neighbours can be funny, but don't want to fall out with them.

    Any suggestions?
You could always plant bamboo of something else which will create a screen. If you're worried that they may see putting up a fence as antisocial then planting bushes/screening plants may be better as they have a dual purpose - looking nice for the garden as well as creating a barrier, rather than being a very obvious barrier. Another option would be if you were putting up fencing on your other boundaries, to do the one that side as well as it will al match.

Put the dog on a rope?
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

So what are the tall columns holding the steel portions made of?

Trying to be clever could make you look as stupid as "Googling melb".

Here's a few more examples of a boundary fence constructed out of brick and steel without the brick base section, just to help you understand:

If you're going to be a !!!!!! about it you should have posted correctly first time.

Your first pics had dwarf walls.
