Neighbour still hasn't replaced fence panels after recent storms

Any suggestions?
Plant a hedge, put up some temporary screening such as bamboo, put up a second fence.
You are responsible for your own privacy.0 -
Fence panels are rare as rocking horse do-do at the moment. I ended up making my own, but i'm a joiner so no big deal for me. I asked my neighbour for half the cost of the timber, and i made and installed them. He was more than happy with the arrangement.
If you really want the fence sorting, just get it done yourself and ask the neighbour for a contribution.0 -
"I don't like my neighbours peering at me". How pathetic, get a life.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Previous postets are correct. Its not the neighbours responsibility to secure boundaries, its your.
Wow - I had no idea. I did think it was a legal responsibility to maintain boundary fencing.
We will go ahead and put some wire fencing up, I think, just so we can get the dog out of kennels and see what happens with the fencing panels. Next door is a bit "precious" about his fence - won't let us do anything on our side in terms of "painting" it (can't think of the name of the preservative stuff) and insists on coming into our garden to do it himself.
We just gently roll our eyes and let him get on with it

@shopaholicz and the OP
If you aren't happy with the current fence, put a hand in your pocket and pay for your own, it's not hard to come to that conclusion.
If fence panels are in such short supply, then paying for our own isn't much of an option, which is why I suggested putting temporary wire fencing up until supplies return to normal. It's not that we are being fight-fisted, as you suggest. Just that it isn't possible, apparently, to get hold of fence panels just yet.0 -

I never mentioned fencing panels, read my post again...
I'll say it again, if you aren't happy with the current fence, put your hand in your pocket and pay for your own.
Fences don't only consist of panels, they can be wire, concrete, wooden planks, metal or even brick. Take your pick.
Here you go, if you are unsure, just click this link and it shows many different fencing materials...

It's not necessarily "precious". Our neighbour asked that we don't do any treatment of his boundary fence without asking first, for a genuine reason - treatments/paints tend to leak through, if we painted it a different colour or used a darker stain, his side would probably end up looking horrible on the parts that seeped through.
As it was, I wouldn't dare do anything to a neighbour's property (because his fence is his property, even if it's on the boundary) without permission, so he had no need to worry. I certainly didn't think him funny to doublecheck though.
For fencing, perhaps take a look at deer fencing. You can buy it quite high and usually it's a darker colour so not too noticable. It may be worth a chat with the rescue before spending any money though, to make sure what you do use is acceptable - the rescue I adopted one of mine from insisted in nothing less than 6' fencing (which I fortunately managed to source on eBay at a bargain price - that's another option for you, someone local may be selling off a couple of panels if they've replaced the whole lot of theirs due to some storm damage, perhaps)0 -
I was talking to a guy who does fencing last week and he told me that there is a shortage of fence panels around I assume due to demand.0

d123 I think a fence made of bricks is called a "wall". I used google to ascertain that this is in fact correct.0

One thing I would say is that it is very hard to find panels at the moment. We moved house 5weeks ago. I have been trying 4 different timber merchants / garden centres every week. Not been able to get a single panel yet.0
