What are these brewers shops, are they DIY shops or paint shops? I could do with a stash of white emulsion. TIA

brewers are decorators' shops. We have one in both of our nearest towns, don't know if they are nationwide. Are usually pretty expensive but with the coupons some competitive prices.

Just got a leafet about this through the letterbox, if anyone's interested...

    Centre of English Studies
    http://www.ces-schools.com/
"Host families urgently required - excellent rates of pay, earn around £120 for each student."
English-language schools in London, Oxford, Worthing, Leeds, Dublin. Looks like all of them are looking for host families - click on school name and then Accommodation for contact details.

I know a few people who've done this (for local uni, not CES) and really enjoyed it - and earned money too:) And I've a couple of friends who've been 'hosted' as it were, great way to learn English living with a family.
the lady who lived in our house before us did this & being 1st time buyers & 2 single beds in each of the bedrooms on the top floor we didn't notice we had no radiators up there  those poor students must have froze in the winter :rotfl:

In all fairness fc started a thread late last year. we should show our friendliness and let one of the newer members to the thread start the new thread. its too easy to keep letting the established chatterboxes to keep starting threads.
I would like to see chicken start it. :)

this is not political as fc knows I am a good friend of hers. :)

ps, tweets has done a good job with bringing the elite + plus back together, so at least let this thread run to 10,000

    Can I call shotgun! :D

As I said earlier, I like most, people don't mind who starts it as long as it's peaceful, harmonious and filled with glitches :T

I think you should start it.You gave me my 1st body shop glitch. The card arrived this morning.Thankyou.

You take an interest in everybodies problems and are very supportive even though you have a lot to contend with yourself. The stories you tell are very entertaining as well.Always find them very interesting to read.:A

Thank you Sal, and everyone else. I get and have had way much more out of this thread than Ive ever put in! I'm quite isolated a lot of the time, difficult for a natural chatterbox (as zippy puts it) sometimes. And quite honestly, reading and having an input in other people's ups and down keeps my own in perspective.
