My resident mechanic also suggested a snapped earth lead.

    Oh a mechanic.
He says like DM, possible faulty alternator or engine earth lead may have snapped.
    Is power steering working ?

I havehad a couple of issues with the steering going weird on me as well, felt like it was going heavy? Wasn't sure if I had imagined it though. Would that tie in or would that be something else?

Thanks for all the replies, you guys are fab :A

Yes oh says that would tie in as the alternator being faulty would affect power steering and lights. Hth
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

  • If then engine is cutting out then the steering will go heavy as the power to the power steering pump will drop also.

    Ah that makes sense.

That does indeed help, thank you.

I think I'll just write tomorrow off now, it's not shaping up to be a good day! Either that, or I'll have to go buy some more Coke for my rum :rotfl:
