The lights/radio must be electrics? Have you checked the fuses?

Don't know about shuddery gears though :o

I'm not an expert by any means but unlikely the 2 are connected from what I do know

I did check the fuses, but couldn't see anything, doesn't mean it's not them though :o :rotfl:

Didn't think they would be connected. But I can just tell there is something far wrong with it :( I might be getting myself into a pickle over nothing, but I just have 'that' feeling y'know.

My poor Dad has a couple of video clips to greet him in the morning so he can see what it's doing. He's gonna be putting me up for adoption at this rate :o :rotfl:

There was a clicking noise coming from the glove compartment area, and it seemed to be interfering with the radio. The light on the clock also seemed to be pulsing a bit as well. When I went out tonight all the lights were flickering, headlights, the dash, everything! The only way I can think to describe is like before you get a power cut.
It feels a bit shuddery as well when in 2nd/3rd gear.

    I could cry!

Clicking noise sounds like a relay going crazy. Lights pulsing, radio interference, haven't you just had an alternator replaced? If so, I would take it back to the place, could be a faulty alternator.

Is the car a Renault ?

    No, it's a Vauxhall.
had it been raining? Could she be letting in water? I had a problem with lights and they put in a new wiring loom - problem is that not all places are happy to work on the electrics- eg Kwik fit wouldn't want to know.

We have had quite a bit of rain, but it started before that, although it is worse now though, so there could be something in that. I've checked to see if there are any damp patches anywhere though, but it seems to be dry throughout.

I'm worried my local mechanic is going to start thinking I've got a notion for him if I go back again  :rotfl:

Aww bless. Don't beat yourself up....second hand cars usually never come problem free.
Your Daddy loves you and would never even consider adopting you......and if he did he will have accepted that no one will have you ;):p:rotfl:

Yes! The alternator was just replaced a couple of weeks ago.
Guess I know where I'm going in the morning then, that didn't even occur to me. Hopefully it could be that then rather than a new problem!

    Oh a mechanic.
He says like DM, possible faulty alternator or engine earth lead may have snapped ( an inexpensive fix) hth
    Is power steering working ?
