  • I applied for a card on 9th may it said they would contact me within 10-14 days but I signed a online agreement, I just tried ringing aqua and the guy on the phone wouldn't tell me anything he just said wait and see if you receive anything in the post, I have a vanquis card which I have paid the balance in full for 5 months and I'm due a credit limit increase but also I have 5 defaults and a ccj 3 of the defaults are satisfied but the ccj isn't ( I'm in the process of getting it set aside) the defaults are all over 3 years old the ccj is 2years 3 months old

Does any one think I have a chance of getting a aqua card? I applied 3 months ago and the straight declined me :(

From experience unfortunately this means that you may well have been declined. If you where accepted they would have confirmed it over the phone and advised on your credit limit.

I'd concentrate paying off the rest of the defaults and dealing with the CCJ before you apply for any further credit :)

If you signed an online agreement at the end of the application form and it said you were successful and you also received the email confirmation saying that your application is now processing then you were accepted :-)
  • I was accepted, given £250 limit then the limit was increased to £750 within 2 months, I pay via DD for the full amount each month.

I use it for things I would normally buy during the month, Fuel, groceries, coffee and such like, the money is still in the bank and when payday arrives I have had a month for free and the repeat.....works well when managed properly.

I still haven't heard anything from them I applied on 9th may? I tried ringing again today they still wouldn't tell me anything but they did say wait another 14 working days then ring us back for an update? Are they serious? It would have been over a month then since I applied for it, I signed a agreement at the end and then it said we will contact you within 7-10 days it's been 2 weeks now? I need to know if I've been accepted or not so I can close my other cc

Don't close your other cc until you hear.

My whole application took almost 2 months:

    1. Applied end of march - received cannot make decision online message.
    2. Middle april the letter was sent to me, received it end of april - to sign the agreement and send proof of ID - signed it and sent it
    3. First week in may the card was posted and received it a week later with £250 limit

So expect a letter in both cases, the support cannot give you any info, they just say to wait for the letter in the mailbox.
  • its been 24 days since i made the application and ive not heard anything, no letters or phone calls

starting to p*** me off a little now. they wont tell me anything on the phone still either!

69.9% is quite steep! I didnt even know any card company had an Apr of such sort. I was accepted for a n Aqua classic card today with a 49.9% Apr and I thought that was bad with a credit score of 924 with Experian, I would have thought they would have lowered the Apr!.
I'll just wait and see if my card and pin comes and how much the credit limit will be. For some reason I dont trust Aqua.. not after reading some negative reviews regarding them freezing and closing ppls account down for overpayments.
And they seem to accept literally anyone..
do you reckon they are a legit company because i'm quite weary now. :)

It's a shame you're the only person who sees your Experian score, isn't it?
