Accepted for an Aqua Classic Credit Card ?

Hi everyone :-)

I just applied for an Aqua Credit card and to my surprise i was accepted and this is the message i got at the end of the application and also got an email saying my application was received for processing on the 10/05/2014

Thank you, your application was successful.
Your card and PIN are now being created and will arrive separately in a few days along with details of your credit limit, and all the information you'll need to use your card. You can then activate and use your card straight away.

Does this mean that i have actually been fully accepted or are they going to be doing more credit checks ?

I even phoned Aqua and they said they could not find my details yet and to phone them on Monday .

Your application has definitely been successful - The automated credit checks will have already taken place - So no reason now for you not to get your card.
  • If you don't hear anything get back to them hope so it's nice to get excepted for things
  • I'm new you have to excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong place having problems with my mortgage sale of if there is a solicitor about haven't found anybody to help me out or give advice so far. Please thank you

That's great to hear cause i'm getting a bit worried now that they might just decline me come Monday when i phone them, i was told that the application department is off on weekends when i rang them earlier.

Just being realistic but what are the credit limits that Aqua gives new customers ?

I've heard that if you are accepted online instantly then the credit limit is a little higher, but if they have to do more checks then its a bit lower.

@Hotcat yes it definitely is nice to get accepted for things, i just really want to build my credit history back up and make it a whole lot better then it is .

If you have little/no/bad credit history, I wouldn't expect a limit higher than £250/500.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

Aqua tend to accept customers that wouldn't get credit from the major credit card companies. Their interest rate can be as high as 39.9% but if you use it wisely and pay it off each month. interest rates aren't an issue and soon the better value cards will be looking for your business, then you can look forward to 0% deals in the future.
  • I just phoned up aqua and they said that they would let me know in 10 days time if i was accepted :(, which is strange cause when i made the application on Saturday it said

And i also got an email that my application was received for processing , so what the hell are they playing at ?

Has this happened to anyone else ?

I've heard of Aqua doing this in the past, they don't have to accept you just because their system originally said yes. I'd just wait it out and see what they say.

I gave them another call just to get an explanation to what exactly is going on, and this time i was told that i've been accepted and that if i received a confirmation email saying my application was processing and if it said that my application was successful after the online application, then it definitely means i was accepted and the 10 days went into effect when i received the confirmation email.

So i got two different answers from them in the same day and now i'm just going to wait till Monday next week at the latest to see what they say or if they send anything through the post.

I always thought that if you apply online for a credit card they credit check you there and then and give you an answer straight away if its a yes or no like aqua did with me , but i guess i was wrong.
