BTW if you need a handset, you can do a lot worse than a Moto G - cheap and very, very decent for the money (quad core, battery lasts well for a smartphone, good call quality, almost pure Android without OEM rubbish)

    +1

    I've a moto g and its a fantastic phone.

I have an o2 sim in it

    https://www.o2.co.uk/freesim/?cm_mmc=googleuk-_-PPC_Direct_Free_Sim-_-Brand-PayAsYouGo-Exact-_-O2PayAsYouGo%20o2payasyougosim%20Exact&gclid=CNXLsOTTo74CFcbKtAodyFkAJw&gclsrc=aw.ds

And as i've had the sim more than 3 months i'm getting 500mb of data.

With the moto g you can set your data limit on the phone so once you've hit it it knocks data off.

I would use the phone daily for emails, checking facebook, bbc news sites, hotukdeals and on here a bit and i'm well under my limit every month.

I was previously paying £35 a month for a Samsung S4 on contract. Getting the same amount of use out of my phone and i've 9/10ths of the capability of an S4 for £10 a month

If you are going to turn the data off, there is not much point in having a smart phone to be honest..

Of course there is - there are many places you can use it on wifi!

I am only a light user of my phone so I have my data turned off (I am on the Three 3-2-1 PAYG).

I can use it on wifi at my house, my parents' house, the office, my friends' houses, McDonald's and countless other free wifi places/wireless hotspots.

You can also use apps that don't require a data connection (once they have been downloaded).
