I tried the 3-2-1 but poor reception here, so have opted for Sainsbury PAYG, on Vodafone network, data turned off and use wi-fi if required
It is PAYG which is what OP wantedNumerus non sum0 -
GiffGaff PAYG.
Data is turned off unless required therefore daily cost nil .
Data use cost up to 20 MB costs 20p every MB more costs 20p .
Giffgaff is not a £10 a month as you say if you buy a standard PAYG sim .
Top up as and when required .I go months without using mobile data as i have no need to be connected to facebook for eternity .0 -
I'm a very light user and Three 321 works for me. I only turn data on when I need it.0

BTW if you need a handset, you can do a lot worse than a Moto G - cheap and very, very decent for the money (quad core, battery lasts well for a smartphone, good call quality, almost pure Android without OEM rubbish)0

I'd recommend the Moto G too. I bought one and now my wife is after one. I think it was the screen resolution that impressed her the most.

Good---thats what im getting. Unfortunately im with Virgin, & its a £1 minimum for data per day (anyone know if the "Day" starts at midnight, or from when you first use it?) guess ill just run credit down, then transfer. I understand you can switch your Number to them.0

OK, so you have a PAYG, so if you want to change providers you can. Virgin uses EE, so TMobile, Orange or EE will work in your phone, if that is who you bought it from.
However, if you just switch the data off in the options on your phone, you will not incur a charge, and it will just use the wi-fi when in range. This is something essential to do if you go abroad.
Moving your number is also no problem, you have to ask Virgin for a PAC no.

Incorrect information!
A handset locked to Virgin will need to be unlocked before another providers SIM can be used, that includes TMobile, Orange and EE. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I will stand corrected espresso, however, a iphone locked to Vodafone, works with TalkTalk mobile sim?
