I have noticed that Martin recommends zaggle for unmetered access [when I was looking for dial-up for a friend] - and when looking I noticed they offer (pretty much) an unlimited 8Mb service for £17 a month - there is no set FUP or download restrictions in place. I am considering switching to them myself - then I'd recommend friends to switch to then I can save more off my bill0

Will as your on BT you have to have a good quality telephone line and also not too far from the exchange to get good speeds, I myself am on sky and pay for up to 16mb and get 14-15mb all throughout the day (live about a mile from the exchange) and put it this way i download excessively when i start, and so far i ain't been warned or anything but before i came to sky i did my own test/comparisons to see what speeds to expect
Will maybe you could post your internet stats off your modem/router page as i or other people could give you a estimate of what to expect from different companies like sky etc
also how much are you expecting to download a month 40gb or more, also another company that i was with that were good were BE Internet (24 pound a month up to 24mb download speed and 1.3mb uplaod speed) i used to download 40gb from night to morning every day for a week or so and used the internet in the day as normal they never complained either0 -
BE is good. So far no user has experiencing throtting even at 300GB download per month.0

As a Be* customer myself, I wholeheartedly recommend them. Put it like this: when we (as a house, as there's 6 of us in total, all students) made the switch from Be* to Virgin Media XL as our phoneline can only get 10mb, I actually APOLOGISED for cancelling my contract with Be*! I've NEVER done that with any other company. There's a LOT of goodwill between Be* and its customers, even if there's problems - they're pushing the boundaries of the technology and there will be problems, and no company's perfect - but they're small and the interaction between customers and staff is good, so go get service with them asap if you exchange is LLU enabled by Be*.
Entanet resellers are some of the only viable, cost-effective alternatives for residential users on Max lines who can't afford >£80pm for a business connection.!0 -
If you live in a cable area , Virgin Media dont have download limits (although they do restrict your speed if you download a lot between 4pm and 12)0

Primus uk based been with them for 14month with no download probs0

Yes I can only agree about Be. I've been with them for almost two years and I can't remember one single outage and speed is always excellent.
I cancelled my Be contract 3 months ago as I thought about getting a cheaper deal, but changed my mind just a week before the disconnection date (after reading some reviews about cheap ISP:s) and phoned Be up and begged them to take me back :-)0
