John Lewis Price Match Guarantee

Don't know if it's the same in John Lewis, but another store (Fenwicks) who offers price matching, when it comes to tvs, as they sell them with a five year guarantee, they'll only price match on tvs that also have the same length guarantee. So effectively the price match has to be against tv plus extended guarantee.0

i.e. Money Saving King states "that Jonny should have bothered reading what he was buying" , ok Mr John Lewis Associate
Hey Jonny there another thread on how John Lewis is being cheeky with price match guarantee, I recommend you read that and keep your complaints because soon you will be able to claim, its just a matter of time before trading standards get on to retailers for mis selling, everyone will be claiming back like PPI
Another stupid post by a newbie accusing another poster of being a company employee. See my last post to Sarah.
What have John Lewis done wrongly in this case? In what way have they not honoured their price match guarantee?0 -

Yeah its common sense like we by new TVs everyday
More evidence of John Lewis falsely representing their image online
BTW it's nothing to do with buying TV's every day and more to do with your ability to read and understand what's in front of you.0 -

I think the OP is disappointed that the sales assistant didn't read the leaflet to him:tonitarzan wrote: »...I don't remember anyone reading they small prints to me...0 -

That also sounds very fair as extended guarantees are usually purchased for an additional fee.
I did ask JL if they would price match a competitor who were £50 cheaper on a Bosch washing machine. As JL were offering a free £90 iron they declined, even though I offered to forego the iron. I wasn't annoyed, outraged or even slightly miffed - I accepted their position and purchased the machine from the cheaper seller.0 -

All posted within twenty minutes and all joined MSE on the same day. Odd?0
