buddy9 is an MSE hero. Not only helping multiple people each year obtain confirmation without paying legal fees, advising when they will need legal help, but also has the patience of a saint. Happily answering the same queries time after time and extracting similar information from people who don't know what is needed to meet the requirements for the Sheriff's Court.

Hi
Looking for help on completing confirmation for my mums estate.
On her will her address is her previous address.Do I need to acknowledge this anywhere? Also on the will my name is my maiden name not my current married one & my brothers address is a an old previous address- how do I reflect this in the “that I am” statement?
Many thanks in advance for any help!

Assuming that you and your brother are the only named executors on the will and that you are the declarant. Also assuming that there are no other differences in the will that need mentioned.
Here is a suggestion:
2 That I am
along with [brother’s full name] residing at [brother’s address] the executor nominate of the deceased conform to the will dated [date] which is produced herewith docquetted and signed as relative hereto and that I am the daughter of the deceased and that the said [brother’s full name] is the son of the deceased. In said will the deceased is designed as residing at [will address] a previous address and the said [brother’s full name] is designed as residing at [will address] a previous address. In said will I am named [name as in will] my former name.1 -
That’s great! Thanks so much!

Just had another thought/questions!
1)My mum had life insurance policies which she wanted to be used to pay for her funeral & were used for that. Do I need to include them on the form even though they have been used for her funeral costs?4 policies around £2000 each.
2)As these have paid for funeral do I put funeral costs as £0?
3)my mum had some credit card debt that I was going to use the little remaining money from her life insurance policies to pay off. If I do this do I need to declare her debts on the form?
Hope that makes sense and thanks again!

What you use the life policy money for has no bearing on C1 completion.
There is a degree of complexity with life policy types. Policies often do not form part of the estate and if so, are then not listed in the inventory.
Actual funeral cost should be used in box 12
Credit card debt should be included in box 14

I am attempting to complete the C1 form for my Mum as my Dad passed away. I think that I have pretty much managed to complete using all of the amazing posts in this feed. I am really nervous though that it will get rejected and that I wont know why, it is classed as a larger estate. Its pretty basic, the house needs changed into my Mums name, there was hardly any money in bank accounts. The will was completed in England so I have been advised that we need to get this signed off by them for the Scottish courts to accept it. Would anyone be willing to look over the form for me and feedback any errors that they might see?

10 years ago my parents wrote their house over to me and my brothers, my mother died 5 years ago and my father died recently. They lived in the house up to their deaths without paying rent. Do I have to include the house for iht. purposes?
