Solicitors often have their applications bounced as well.Itshouldntbethishard said:
I decided yesterday to get help from my solicitor who we did our wills with but they are busy until mid December.0 -
I’ve had my 3rd attempt returned with advice only to use a solicitor or check the book Currie on Confirmation or dealing with a deceased’s estate online guidance. I did not get the executor to initial amendments, so maybe that’s what’s wrong. They haven’t given me a clue and the last two rejection letters with our C1 said ‘Dear Mr Reilly’ and goodness knows who he is! They aren’t leading by example in terms of being accurate in communication.0

You could post a redacted copy for comments if you wish.Pansygarden21 said:I’ve had my 3rd attempt returned with advice only to use a solicitor or check the book Currie on Confirmation or dealing with a deceased’s estate online guidance. Which court are you submitting too? I’ve found this forum really useful and plan to go to my MP as the process needs to change.0

Thanks buddy9, I attach a redacted copy below, apologies for the pages not being in the correct order. In panel 8 I put the house number and town and Scotland but not the postcode. In the inventory I entered the names of banks and their addresses and a/c no and sort codes.I didn’t add the house value to the inventory as it passed to the executor under survivorship but I included half the value of the house in box 23.

Para 1. Typo in spelling of Sheriffdom
Para 2. Retype rather than including amendments. However the entry should say as below. This assumes that there are no other changes or errors in the will that need to be referenced.
That I am
the wife and executor nominate of the deceased conform to his will dated [date] which is herewith exhibited, docquetted and signed by me as relative hereto. In said will the deceased is designed as residing at [will address] a former address.
I assume that you have docquetted the will adequately and with the same date as the C1 and that you are submitting the original will.
Para 3. You need to enter your full name in the first box.

Moveable estate in England and Wales to read Personal estate in England and Wales.
Better to include the entry for item 7 wholly on one page, rather than split over two pages.

The summary totals must not be shown in the fourth column. They require to be included in the second column. See examples here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6343501/c1-scotland-inventory

Buddy9 thank you very much for kindly taking the time to check my form. Sorry to ask for more but there’s a couple more points I wanted to clarify if possible.
As to Para 3 do I leave it saying ‘as Executor for said along with the said’ or can I strike through ‘along with the said’ as there is only one executor?
As to the docquetting of the will, I wrote the name of the town which the deceased and executor resided/reside in and then the date of docquetting to match the date signed in the C1. The wording I used was:
‘This is the will referred to in my declaration of this date relative to the inventory of the estate of the late ‘name of deceased’ My signature: ‘signature of executor’.0 -
para 3 - pen through 'along with the said'
Docquet looks ok.1 -
Thank you. I look forward to getting these amendments made and submitting this again.buddy9 said:para 3 - pen through 'along with the said'
