council tax conundrum

Hi everyone, I'm really hoping someone can tell me the best thing to do.
I graduated in January and have since been travelling about the country and staying with different friends etc. My post was always being sent to my mum's house for ease etc. I have found a job and am moving to a different county. My partner and I are registering for CTax and it wants our previous addresses. His isnt a problem but I havent paid CTax as was at uni and then at no fixed address. Do I just leave that part blank? Please advise as I dont want to be charged for the last 4/5 months or be accused of fraudulent activity etc.

Just put down your parents address.0

Thanks Pixie. But I wasn't actually living there? And if I say I was then I'll be liable for CTax charges wont I? Thanks0

Council tax charges for where? You weren't permanently resident anywhere.0
-
You were a student, so not liable for council tax. Assuming there was more than one adult living at your mother's address, then there will be no extra council tax for the time after you graduated.0

I was a student up until January. But from then till now I'm not. And no it was just my mum at home. :-S0

Just give any address..... it's just a form. Then add a note that you weren't actually at an address.
Forms...... worst thing in the world as they never fit people's lives.0 -
Ah so you can't put your mums name if she was claiming she was living on her own and you were no longer a student. Can you not put on the form no fixed address?0

I was wondering about writing that - that wouldn't mean I'm trying to say I'm homeless would it? Woukd they want addresses of every friend etc that Ive visited and stayed with?
Will it matter thst all my post and bills go to my mum? (That was my address while I was studying etc)0 -
Can't you just put the last address that you were actually residing at, presumably student accommodation, until January? That was your last address...0

Just tell them you've been travelling. It's up to them to ask more questions if they need to satisfy themselves further but it's not uncommon for someone fresh from uni to do exactly what you've done.
