I bled for 12 weeks after I had my son. I was starting to think I'd never be normal again but the gp gave me a different pill to the one I used to take to stop it. I had provera which is progesterone only.
I have a hormone imbalance (I needed clomid to help me to get pregnant) and taking cerazette suits me. I don't have any periods. My poor friend however started on cerazette, bled 3 weeks out of every 4 and ended up having endometrial ablation in the end. That and a change of pill fixed it for her.
Fingers crossed the provera works for you. It worked fine for me. Microgynon is a combined pill by the way, not a mini pill.0 -

[checks packet] My apologies. Micronor.
Can't take the combined because I'm too old, apparently.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Not child related, but when I changed contraception due to a health condition it was utterly horrendous. For three months on nothing and six months on the mini-pill, I was on for two-three weeks out of the month, and just about ready to rip the hands off anyone I saw with chocolate (or wearing white).
I went onto Depo Provera, the injection. It was like someone turned off a tap. If you aren't planning on extending your family any further for a while, it's worth a look. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Ah now, the Depo injection turned me into a snarling, fat, spotty horror!
I could have coped with the moods OR the 2 extra stone of weight OR the pubescent acne but not all three at once.
butterflylady, good luck for your scan. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
How did the scan go? I've not just had a baby but I'm about to start on cerezet to ease the bleeding.

When I did manage to speak to the dr, she has put me on progestrone tablets on top of the pill, I'm not using the pill as contraception as I was on it last year when I feel pregnant, I'm only back on it to try and control the bleeding.
Had a surprise phone call earlier and can go for my scan this evening so I'm now manically trying to organise childcare.
How was the scan?0 -
Thank you for remembering about me and sorry about not letting you know sooner.
The initial indication from the scan was that everything was normal, just waiting for the report to be written up and sent to my drs.
In terms of the bleeding it has slowed today, so I'm not sure whether this is the tablets the dr prescribed to me on Tuesday or whether my body is just playing tricks on me, which it has done before.
The next step is to give the tablets a week then back to the drs on Monday/Tuesday next week to get the formal report from the scan and decide the next step forward.
I will keep you updated as your support has meant a lot.0 -
When I went to the doctors at the start about painful periods he (!!!!!!!g typical) put my on something called melenafic acid which I thought was to help with the pain but is actually to make them lighter. Have you tried that?[STRIKE]£2200[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1950[/STRIKE][STRIKE]£1850[/STRIKE] £1600 on my credit card
