Number of interviews before you were offered a job?

Yes but plenty of jobs I applied for I never got as far as interview, I sometimes wonder if it's just pot luck rather than skill and experience lol
The opposite problem for me. I get offered interviews for most of the jobs I apply for but don't get any further.
I've got an interview this week for a role the same as one I applied for in January. I didn't get an interview that time but got some feedback and made changes to future applications, which meant I got interviews for every single one from then on. I may have got them anyway of course.
Just need to get the hang of this interview lark now!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Only had 2 jobs during my entire working life.
Job 1 - (Started 2 days after my 16th Birthday) 24 years.

I was more interested in how many jobs people were interviewed for before they were offered jobs.
I was in my last job for 23 years so you beat me - changed roles a few times within that time though and the organisation also changed ownership twice.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
I'm working ft but wanted to do a different job in the company but could not get through any interview before I went to pieces. I gave up applying in the end. I then went on to help my daughter get through her first interview, I was excellent at helping her and found myself looking at the questions in a different way so just to satisfy myself applied once more within the company, got an interview and absolutely sailed through it. I feel much more confident now but feel I'm too old to start going for new jobs. Think most employers want evidence of communication, teamwork, ability to change and adapt, motivation, take on new challenges, want to learn. I help train a sport to children and this is an excellent source of gaining experience in the above. My daughter was a lifeguard [she is now working in IT] and this was another excellent source of gaining experience in person specifications. You do need the qualifications for the job though...0

Last 2 applications, one got no response, the other got an interview and an offer, although I was very experienced in the industry.0

Only had five interviews and got the five jobs. But I have been in my present position for fifteen years and I think things would be a bit different now.0

In January 2013 I had 15 interviews in 2 weeks before being offered and accepting a job.
In July 2013 that job started to fall apart, partly due to few new projects being won and partly because of my poor health, so I started looking again. I had 8 interviews before getting 2 contract offers, one of which I accepted in August with a government organisation, and which has since been extended twice.0 -
I've applied for countless jobs, had a dozen interviews.
Haven't been offered a job yet.
I think at my next interview I shall go in with the unshakable belief (rather than attitude) that "I am ABSOLUTELY the BEST person for this job, and I am not leaving until I have shown the interviewer that."
Might work. Couldn't do worse than not get offered the job, anyway.0 -
Got my present job after 4 unsuccessful interviews.
In my previous two jobs - it was simply a case of going to the interview and being offered it. Sign of the economic climate I guess.0 -
After applying for 100+ jobs I had an interview and was unsuccessful.
Applied for 40+ jobs got two interviews and have been offered both jobs had 1 interview per company then a phone call with the offer.
But not every company is the same sometimes it just takes time. I applied for anything and everything that I am capable of doing even if it's a job that I didn't really want, I just wanted a job.
