great you got your pantene stuff today dreams :j:j
I've always known the magpie rhyme as..
One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told,
Eight's a wish,
Nine's a kiss,
Ten is a bird you must not miss,
MAGPIE.
but there are variations of the rhyme
cooled down lovely here this evening :j
hope you're all having a good oneplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

That's odd Sheils about the shortage of magpies in Scotland. I count every magpie I see each day. Coming home on the bus there is a housing estate for elderly people and disabled people, there can be 10 magpies on one roof. I usually give up counting as the bus is turning to go back on to the main road. There is a rhyme but after ten you start all over again.
Some areas have some Dreams. First time I ever really noticed them was around Stirling Uni when we took DS1 there. Have never seen 10 together though!Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

I was trying to think of the end of the magpie rhyme fire**fly :A I could only remember up to seven!
My brother has a tree out his garden where they nest and it's funny to watch them. My mums house is at the side of bro's so we watch them on his shed roof tormenting my mums dog! When the dog chases one away another swoops down to pinch her food!
I bet the kingfishers are lovely to watch BellaI've only seen them at Salthome wildlife reserve that just down the road from Seaton Carew. We saw the seals there on Saturday when we passed
Well done on the wins rose and getting your blue dragon hamper
Congrats on the Pantenne too Dreams :j
Hope you've had a lovely day Becksxx
I never realised you didn't have many magpies in Scotland Sheils! There was a huge seagull in Pannet park in Whitby today swooping really close to the kids! It's a gorgeous park that one, well looked after!
Had a nice day with the kids at whitby and weather was nice too! Bus was packed though at 9am!Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
lol @ the magpies tormenting your mums dog wingo :rotfl:
they are very crafty
I love it when the cats are half asleep on the path & the magpies keep hopping up to peck the cats tails :rotfl:
cats get fed up in the end & start retaliating by hunching up & warning them off but the magpies just all gather together &
carry on :eek::rotfl:
makes me laugh as well when the squirrels bury the nuts &
magpies sit watching them then when squirrel has gone to fetch some more nuts the magpies go & 'unbury' the nuts & nick off with them
glad you had a lovely day at Whitby :jplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

If you get chance Sheils you might want a walk around Pannet park, it's next to Whitby museum (the one at the back of sea front shops just up a bank) but the grounds are gorgeous to walk around as well as a brill kids park. I wanted to go up the steps to castle but the kids were moaning saying they couldn't be bothered! Lazy gits!
I had f&c's in Alexander's cafe today but we didn't enjoy it at all today.
It's all park & ride now in Whitby, cost around £5 to park with free bus ride back if you park just outside.Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
Isn't there free parking in Whitby now wingo? We have always parked in back streets.

Was panicking earlier Had a list to do an online shop for family coming home from holiday on Monday. So decided I would put it beside PC so I wouldn't forget. Couldn't find it anywhere then suddenly remebered it was in the glove compartment of sons car. Took me an hour of turning house upside down first though. Have enjoyed having his car this fortnight only used it twice though. Got rid of mine two years ago couldn't justify the cost as most thing are within walking distance and train station is three bus stops away so if I go to Glasgow or Edinburgh It is easier no hastle trying to find somewhere to park and for everything else there is a bus every five minutes0
