Second viewing woes

Had our 2nd second viewing on our house on sat, we have been getting EA to do all viewings but decided to do this one to see if she had any questions. Viewer (mid fifties)brought her mother along too as she did first time apparently and expected loads of questions and thorough checking of house, reality was she was here 10mins and only asked why we were leaving area ,it's for childcare reasons as father in law going to look after youngest daughter and told her so, didn't say we needed somewhere bigger too obviously and she asked if we had had many viewings. Was left a bit Underwhelmed, was wondering what other peoples experienced of second viewings are?

In my own personal experience, a second viewing (from either viewpoint - be it vendor or buyer) equals "Darn nearly a done deal".
That may be just me...but it's my take on things.0 -
I hope I can mirror your experience then, fingers crossed! Like I say was just expecting....well I don't know really :-)0

I think people keep their cards close to their chests too. But I do agree a second viewing is very positive.Bossymoo

Agree it's very positive. We're in the process of buying a new place - had a 2nd viewing on 1 property but didn't buy it and had 2nd viewing on another and are now buying it - i.e. we didn't bother going back to the other 6 or 7 properties we viewed. I'm also one not one of those types who appear on TV shows and gasp and exclaim at every room / feature but that doesn't mean I'm not interested. Hope you find out soon either way.I'm proud of my advice, if others want to look I say enjoy the show!0

Agreed re the keeping cards close to chest.
However, my EA told me my buyer of last house would be the one to buy it whilst they were on their first viewing and was virtually bringing out the champagne when they came back for a second viewing.
In my current house, I have discovered subsequently that the next door neighbour at least was sure I would be buying the place when I turned up for a second viewing (mind you...I am in an area where there aren't vast amounts of property up for sale at any given time...because its so small).0 -
No, kind if wished I had but didn't want to seem to forward and put them on the spot, suppose time will tell, not helping it being a bank holiday either0

Of the houses we had a second viewing on we put offers on all of them bar one. The one we didn't put an offer on had damp issues which we couldn't see the full extent of because it was an accompanied viewing with a least 3 other couples looking so we all kinda got in the way of each other. Plus it need lots of other work too.
We never asked a lot of questions the second time round as we usually asked all the important questions the first time round. The second was to make sure we;
A. Still liked it - I think you need to not get too carried away and give yourself time to think about the house. Even if you like it first time round it might not be right for you when you have a think
B. Make sure we had not missed any problems with it
Even when I liked a house I tried not to let on how much as I didn't want the vendor thinking we would pay whatever to try to get it. Which we wouldn't anyway so there was no point letting the vendor think that. We are realistic about what a house is worth.0 -
We never had a second viewing, but measured the speed with which they got a surveyor in as being an acid test or how seriuous they were.
TBH, if you have a second viewing, & bringing mum, there's emotion involved so I'd be grinning like a cat & mentally checking what I need to pack in what order...
Hoping all goes well for you!0
