That response just brought mind an incident where my parents were sitting outside their fairly isolated house having lunch when they heard a car crash on the road beside them. Dad as a former policeman sprinted out and they called 999 then stayed with the folk and my Dad drove to the nearest city the next day to pick up their daughter and take her to the hospital. A week later the whole family turned up with wine and flowers for my parents

I know the good people are in the majority it was just rotten luck it was a numptie who was coming along in his car.

A swift pint is helping me feel no pain

Ah this reminds me of a crash my dad had. He's also an ex copper, but when he was coming back from a night shift on a particularly frosty night, he hit a patch of black ice on a bend, spun the car and went into a houses hedge (this was a single house in rural area).

Car was pretty unhappy but he was fine. Knocked on door and no response, so he walked down the road to a stables.

Heard nothing more, everything sorted as it was insurance wise. Six months later he gets a letter and they're suing him for damage to the hedge!! He told his insurance and they sorted it, but I thought what a bloody cheek, he could've been taken to hospital! They were also claiming for a really extortionate amount, think it was £5k and to be honest the damage was very minor to it!

Some people are naturally just s***s! Hope you're feeling OK now x

My husband told me this story & I thought I'd share it with you to cheer you along - Some years an old lady slipped over in the snow & her shopping went everywhere. A young lad just stood there pointing & laughing at her. The woman grabbed a tin & threw it at him & it hit him on the head. That took the smile off his silly face & passers by were then laughing at him :rotfl:

    It's nothing new.
My parents lived a "nice" Surrey road. One night we heard a bang outside and there was a motorcyclist down in the road. The neighbours opposite had sand in the road outside their house in the road -with a barrier and lamps on it-as they were having some work done. The lad's leg was open to the bone and he was in a lot of pain- My Mum got him a rug and my Dad called an ambulance. The neighbour's door opened and Mrs Middle Aged and Middle Class stepped out -lit the lamps on the bloody sand and hurried back inside again. Didn't even look at my Mum or the injured lad! My Mum was soooooo angry -and never spoke to the nasty mare again but did make sure the police knew exactly what had happened when they arrived.

More recently I was in A&E with a friend who was unwell. As well as the problem she was there with -she was epileptic and she'd had several petite mal episodes as she was unwell. They were becoming more frequent and I advised the desk that she was heading for a full blown fit -they didn't want to know and said she'd have to be triaged first and to wait-an hour later we were still waiting and down she went - lying there shaking, frothing at the mouth the whole thing...... The other waiting patients gathering for a good stare and the desk could hardly have missed something was going on but ignored it. I had to send someone to the desk to get help for her.......and still we were surrounded by rubber necking morons. I lost my temper and told them to pee off (or something similar) that the TV with Eastenders was at the other end of the room and not down here and to *erm* go away. They reluctantly moved away as she was wheeled off in a trolley. People are unbelievable !

Some people are just so nasty, We were verbally abused in the town a few weeks ago because my husband is in a wheelchair and horrible man started shouting at us telling him to get up and f*****g walk!
He then disappeared and didn't give us the chance to defend ourselves so a coward as well.

That is nasty. I have actually been shocked this weekend by peoples kindness. I am disabled and have crutches and we went to a festival in Yorkshire. We stopped at a service station on the way up and as I was struggling to get out the narrow parking space the man in the car next door opened my door, took my crutch and helped me out of the narrow space.
Then I was sitting watching the show and the crowd moved forward so a nice women next to me picked up my chair walked through the crowd and got me on the front row.
even in the job centre he realised I couldn't walk upstairs when the lift was out of action so he got the women to come downstairs to see me.
