Now there's a challenge there's no point me joining in with - unless I was to make it "No more than X transactions which aren't internal transfers" that is - I'm forever shifting money about the place when I realise there's odd penny balances - and often the transfer from savings account to savings account has to go through the "parent" account on the way, if you see what I mean. There's often a *lot* of transfers in any one month, but mostly, they're moving my money to me, rather than my money to other folk! :rotfl:

I was doing a count of how many transactions I had last month compared to this month to date

Of course I HAD to go and check :D, 59 in April (In and Out) and 25 so far this month, which does include those internal transfers. ;)

    Off the rails yesterday!

Had to go into the office again so of course was buying coffees and lunch etc.

Went into my purse thinking I had £30 for the rest of the week and saw I only had £40 for the rest of the month!!

So I may have to dip into the savings I built up over the last few weeks.

    Moral of the story...only take out £40 a week NOT £80 a fortnight as I can't be trusted!!! :o

In town today again getting Blue and Silver Hairspray for son's Wig Day at school tomorrow (Charity Event) so that cost me £3.90.

Also spent £46 in M&S - all on a Christmas gift card...AND I had saved £4 from the amount on the tickets, so feeling virtuous...1 pair of jeans and 2 tops and I'm now set!

Lodged £100 of savings in my N'Wide account, so again feeling virtuous, although it should have been £130 but we will skim over that!:o

EEK!! Been going off the rails the past week and need to get back on track. I think it's because of the fact I didn't have much to do in YNAB so I engineered things to do like spending!

To be fair there have been a couple of festivals about the last week, one in my town and the maritime festival in the city, so a few spends there.

I'm NOT overbudget but I am not rolling over as much as I wanted to.

So hoping June will be much better!

Have had bad tonsillitis for the past few days and feeling like death warmed up! The good thing is...no spending.

Will be back to check balances etc once I'm feeling fit again!

    Thanks ShirePirskie! :)

Well I've checked me balances for the month and it looks like I am ending up with about 1000% more than I did last month! AND...all my transactions for the month are listed on one page!!! All because I have cut down spending, I am now budgeting for long term spends, and I have money in the bank for it.

Yes I have the odd splurgette moment, hey I'm human afterall, but I am doing thsi one day at a time, like a reformed alcoholic!! ;)

Also I'm back to listening to Dave Ramsey's podcasts every day...very inspirational and motivational to get rid of the debt.

Just spent an hour on YNAB reviewing June's Budget and also calculating the date I can complete Baby Steps 2 (Debt Free excl Mortgage) & 3 (Proper Emergency Fund of 6 months Wages) of Dave Ramsey's Financial Freedom - December 2017 is that date! :j

So will hopefully be starting 2018 (Oh god I will be 47 that year!!!) ready to crank away at the Mortgage, College Fund and Pension!!

That means I will have 6 years left out of my 10 year Plan to clear my Mortgage.

If it is the balance that it is now, and I don't expect it to be as I am hoping to move to repayment soon, then I will have to amass £12,000 per year to clear it. That's £1000 a month!!!! I better start finding ways to get that amount saved!!

Ugh unexpected payment of £88.74 yesterday to AA to get Homestart (I only had Roadside) because my battery died and I needed to get to Tesco to get painkillers for my migraine...to be honest I was willing to pay anything to get my car started so I could get relief!!

Anyway, that's £88 out of the £300 I needed to find to keep me on track for paying off my loan early. So now I am struggling not only to find the £300 but the £88 shortfall.

I mean I know I have it in my bank account BUT I have it budgeted out for other things at the moment and I am loathe to start robbing Peter to pay Paul (if you see what I mean!!)

In essence, I have given myself a specific budget per month (regardless of my wages) and I have to live in that budget. Anything I earn of top of that via wages or whatever goes to make up the £300 I need to overpay the loan.

The other thing is, I wasn't paid any of my April shift allowance this month for some reason, which means I now know how much my basic take home is a month, so I will be looking to trim off the shift allowance excess each month (variable amounts) directly into my overpayments. I hope its a simple mistake and I get 2 months of shift allowances next month :)

So, bottom line is...I need to find £300 extra a month of overpay my loan and keep my on track to being debt free by Dec 2015.
    Eek!!
