Well, This weekend turned out to be more expensive than planned!

Someone knocked on my door early Saturday evening to tell me they could hear a cat or kitten from my car. Turns out it was a tiny little kitten stuck somehow in my engine...it must have crawled up through a space below the engine in the car. After about 2 hrs and about 4 people trying unsuccessfully to help me out, a taxi driver asked for a pair of tongs, and we finally got the little kitten out.

Needless to say my son has now adopted it and we have a pet cat! :o

I'm trying to contact Cat Protection Society today to find out what we need to do. It only looks less than 3 months old, cute little thing that is now called Whiskers.

Well that means more on the budget, including pet food and insurance now! But I can't let the little thing go now. She is very sweet and is already using the litter box I had to go out and buy.

    Hi Nellis

Just caught up with your diary, will be subscribing :)

Few things of note to me:

    1. Roadkill - I have never heard of roadkill in monetary terms before but it is GENIUS! I walk a few miles each day to & from work in the middle of a city centre. I never look out for pennies. I should do!

    2. Breakdown at Work - I hope this is behind you now, I have been there twice in the last few months (unfortunately in my office though!) and it is just horrible to feel that way.

    3. Dave Ramsey - who is this fellow? He sounds like some sort of money-demi-god-worthy-of-moneysaving-nobel-prize?!

    4. Store Points - I have never thought about accumulated points this way - I always use the same supermarket, even if somewhere else might be cheaper, as I figure it's all about the same in the end but I'll have loads of points to replace spending money come xmas! Think I need to re-think!

    5. You seem so energised about this, it's fantastic, well done :T

    6. Wine in the food budget - that's how I do it too - in fact anything I buy at a supermarket, unless it's a special trip for something specific that is not food - I count as food budget. I figure this is the only way to learn how to curb spending here!

Great diary so far, amazing 10 year target! (I'm one of those who doesn't consider my 4 month old mortgage to be a debt - not yet at least!)

Looking forward to what the future brings :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

    Hi Terry! :)

I found a penny roadkill the day I had to go buy pet stuff for the kitten...Black Cat AND a lucky penny! I'm off to buy a lottery ticket next! :rotfl:

Check out Dave ramsey dot com, he does a daily podcast on his website and I try and religiously watch it. It's basically a video of his radio show. But it keeps me very focussed on what I am trying to achieve. Yes he is a Christian (I'm not) but not in an evangelical way, certainly nothing to put me off his podcasts and videos on you tube. All he "preaches" is common sense and pay it forward once you are debt free.

    :D

Oh, my name isn't Terry btw - I just couldn't think of a 'name' so starting putting something like my number plate before I realised that was stupid! That said, I am repeatedly told (by the OH) that my number plate does look like it says Terry so maybe I should just roll with it!!:rotfl:

The little kitten is settling in well and playing with a cardboard box, she is a little delight! :)
