Hi ed, I've been popping in and out of your diary but have finally got round to reading the whole thing from the start today. It's very interesting reading about your different outlook on planning for the future via investing rather than just oping. It defiantly makes sense but seems quite daunting!
Congratulations on the baby, that really is fantastic news, what an exciting year you have comingMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
I'm not the biggest fan of tofu either. The only stuff I enjoy is the stuff you buy in S@insburys that is already marinated - yummy in a stir fry! Even my OH admits it's ok"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living." Terry PratchettBought our house 2012

Not really. Haven't recovered from Tom Kerridge's chorizo, chick when I decluttered some old sauces yesterday it made a gap for the box of Tofu to be seen . I'm building up to it slowly, tomorrow I may actually pick the box up
.
Sorry GG but that box will be useless as a handweight - honestly - try picking up tins insteadMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

This is the culinary thread after all
Feeling like a total pig now, managed to have 3 desserts today! Visited relatives in the morning, then drove to a semi-rural town in South Lanarkshire to get a feel for the place. Love bits of it (traditional architecture, village green etc.), but wasn't wildly impressed by the more modern 'Cooncil' flats etc. etc.
Considering our next house and we are trying to cast our net a bit wider this time. Cheap houses c. £150k for 3 beds, nice ones c. £180k, 7 mile drive to local station for commute. We both like the general vibe of the place, but none of the immature emotional response that led to us buying our current place. Probably a good thing?
We have agreed to go back in spring.
Followed by a belly busting Sunday roast (trio of roasts, goose fat potatoes, stuffing, cauliflower cheese, pud) and a couple of pints. Then time for a nap in front of the fire and now I'm catching up with admin as my first sourdough loaf does its thing... :T

Not sure about the primary schools, the secondary school is a modern building and were rated excellent/very good/very good when they were visited by Ofsted (this was a good few years ago now). Their website is well updated, pupils seem to be very enthusiastic and there is good evidence of involvement in community/charity/industry activities as well as classes.
Then again, you obviously see the best of schools on their websites0 -
