Ed, if you are quick, you might find a bottle or two of the Paul Mas Malbec in Morries for £6 this weekend

Thanks SL. I bought a couple of bottles when you mentioned it previously and while I found it to be a great value drop for £6, I wasn't blown away.

I shouldn't have checked the W@itrose website, found this one on offer for £10.99 (plus I currently have a 10% cashback offer from the Spanish bank for WR). It was the first vaguely sophisticated bottle of wine I tried back in our London days and it hasn't let me down since.

That marks the end of possibly the worst birthday ever.

DD screamed or cried for much of the day after sleeping in half hour snatches last night. She has all of the symptoms of whooping cough bar the whoop. Antibiotics have done next to nothing and we are all frazzled.

At least there were plenty of cheques, all of which get paid into my pension as is the tradition :)

I may also have eaten a steak the size of a small plate...

Happy birthday, though sorry to hear it wasn't a particularly good one.

I hope your daughter does not have whooping cough, it's awful and takes a long time to recover from.

I don't see that she can Alex, she has had the vaccination against it.

Birthday ended well as I won the lottery.

    I wish! £6.10.

£6.10 = £7.62 in my SIPP, should be £12.20 by the time I hit FI :rotfl:

Thanks KC - I picked up a fresh cannoli from a little Italian deli near us - so the weekend will be starting off on the right foot :coffee:

Won £42.50 from a random bet. Most unlike me, but a horse owner gave me a tip ;)

    Into the SIPP it goes...

Hope your little one get better soon.

We had a few bouts of croup when the kids were little, know it's not half as bad a whooping cough but it was scary all the same.

Hope you get to the bottom of it soon so that you all start to feel better. Happy belated birthday!

Thanks earthgirl, I hope so too!

£232.60 sent to my SIPP (birthday money + lottery win + horse win). I already had a little tax relief money waiting for a home in there, so £291.18 winging its way towards Vanguard VLS100. In addition, the gummint will send me a late birthday present of £58.15 in a couple of months :)

Have I mentioned that I find pensions all empowering and stuff? :rotfl:
