Where have I put my patient hat? Farr too much chopping and changing over the last few days, need to get back to better habits
The house continues to be a source of real stress. We had a plumber out on Friday who scared the !!!! out of me, claiming that we have several blocked sections of pipe and that he would need to replace this before fitting new radiators. I am not sure whether he was a total chancer, or whether something is wrong with our central heating system. The firm that fitted our new boiler are coming out to review at the end of the week, hopefully this will shed some light on what's happening
Despite it being an expensive time, we think that we will accept a quote for c. £1400 to fit shutters in our living room. It's a very large window (11' x 7' or so) and it's far too bright/hot in summer, very chilly in winter. The plan is to use one of the existing 0% CCs to pay the 50% deposit for this as we still have 15+ months left on the interest free period.- Sold my failed ETF purchase based on the premise of a relief rally (c. £50 loss)
- Purchased £100 of VLS100
- Paid off £279.64 from 0% CC :j
- Regular OP chopped to £1, had forgotten to do this earlier
- Paid £5 into P2P lending account
- Reinvested £2 into P2P lending account
- £1.09 OPed
- Withdrew £0.04 from P2P lending account
- Withdrew £0.01 from TCB :rotfl:

Those pennies will mount up!
Shutters sound like an excellent idea - I remember shutters in France (out to the swimming pool!) that looked like barn doors, they were on the outside, obviouslyWill yours be on the inside?
I'm really happy about one replacement window I had, the one in the bathroom - it needed a blind, as the shower was right by a window, and I paid extra for a double glazed window with the blind *inside* the glazing - no damp, no dustwin-win.
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yes, on the inside, plantation shutters, that sort of thing.
Window with blind sounds awesome, love it.0 -
have always loved shutters on windows. Would look daft here at the cottage and in my previous renovations - but - maybe one dayMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
We've been having a tough time of it trying to get DD to sleep by herself. She's a funny creature, falls asleep very quickly in your arms, but is terrible at relaxing by herself. So with good humour, several cuddly toys and 4? dummies we attempted to get her to drift off by herself. *2 hours* of visits before she was asleep! After that we had a nice relax, but it was only half an hour 'til we were in bed ourselves :rotfl: She is a lovely little girl, but we need to get her trained up
- My payday :j
- Spreadsheets updated
- S&S ISA rebalanced
- £24.20 paid off of 0% CC

- £0.11 withdrawn from TCB
Trying to keep today as a low spend day, had a quick check of my C@melcamelcamel account, but no reductions on my wish list anyway. Just as well, we have a wedding to go to this month and the costs always sneak up on you.0
